IKAR Congress and General Assembly 2012 organized by the Polish Mountain Rescue organization
GOPR will be he located in Kryniza in the beautiful Tatra Mountains.
Arrival day with official opening will be on Wednesday 3 rd 2012
Departure day is Sunday 7 th .

Main topics of our discussion will be:

“A modular first aid kit for alpinists, mountain guides and alpinist physicians”. (O.Reisten)
At the congress on Saturday morning ICAR MEDCOM we will present 3 lectures:
0800 – 0815: Paal/Brugger: Results of the “Pig Study” – Implications on Avalanche Burial
0815 - 0835 Doug Brown “Accidental Hypothermia”
0835 - 0850 G. Strappazon: Medical Aspects of Canyoning Rescue
(Please note: lecturers at the congress on Saturday must submit their abstracts until September 1 st to
the organizers)
To all first-authors of our papers and other presentations: please bring with you a Wordformatted
text on a memory stick for digital presentation.
If you have any additional workshop or case report, bring all materials and papers for discussions.
Please send me the title of your presentation via E-mail some weeks in advance. I also invite all of you
to make suggestions for new papers, topics to work on, etc.
This invitation is addressed directly to you as a member of ICAR MEDCOM, but not to the
respective rescue organization. You need to register on your own or with your organization!
Go to www.ikar-cisa.org, where you’ll find all specifications about the Congress. For flights,
access routes, accommodation etc. ask your home organisation or contact the organizer.
There will be shuttles from the nearest airport (Krakow) to Krynica.
This information will be available only for registered members of ICAR MEDCOM via our
internal platform on the official IKAR webpage. Please register as soon as possible. It will be
more expensive after September 5 th 2012
