In celebration of JARC's 40th anniversary, The Jewish News is offering a special $40 annual rate
through JARC for new in-state subscriptions, with a portion of the proceeds going to JARC's Slomovitz
Scholarship Fund. The regular annual rate is $69.
Philip and Anna Slomovitz were one of JARC's founding families and benefactors of the Beit Channa
Home. Philip also founded The Jewish News in 1942. Their son, Gabriel, was a resident of JARC's
Feldstein/Katzman Home.
“JARC continues to be a national model of care, compassion and advocacy for its clients and their
www.jarc.org families and has educated and enriched our entire Jewish community in the process,” said Jewish
News Publisher Arthur Horwitz, a former JARC board member and vice president. “It is fitting that we
pay tribute to JARC and our founder, Philip Slomovitz, with this special offer and donation.”
JARC supporters are encouraged to purchase new subscriptions to The Jewish News for themselves, friends, children, grandchildren and
others. Not only has The Jewish News been selected in four of the past five years as Michigan's best weekly publication in its class, but
it continues to be the glue that binds our Jewish community into one of the most cohesive and admired in North America.
Also, during these difficult economic times, new subscriptions to The Jewish News help assure that its future, and those of the many
local businesses who advertise in it and depend on your patronage, matter to you.
To subscribe (multiple orders are welcome!), please call (248) 351-5174 and use the code JARC40. Offer is good for new, instate
subscriptions only and expires October 1, 2009.
