REPORTS
Reports for senior students have been posted and next
Friday the reports for junior students will be posted. The
holidays will be a good time to talk with your son about his
progress and discuss any issues, positive or negative, in the
development towards achieving better results.
SKI TRIP
Best wishes to those participating in the annual ski trip to
Wanaka. I need to clarify a few points regarding this trip.
Although it takes place in the holidays and some parents
accompany their sons, it is important to realise that the
students do represent HIBS. Behaviour and attitude will

• At the North Island Secondary
Schools Swimming
championships Callum Brigden
came 1st in the 100m butterfly
and 50m butterfly and 2nd in the
50m freestyle. Nicholas Berry
came 3rd in the 200m freestyle.
Also the 4 x 50m freestyle relay
team of Kallum Sullivan, Timothy
Fraser, Mark Jesson and Callum
Brigden came 3rd.
• Andre Brown played in the
Wellington Regional Brass Solo
and Party competition. Out of
four categories entered, Andre
placed 2nd (1 point behind Toby
Pringle playing the Cornet) in the
Under 16 Air Varie playing the
Bass in the Ballroom on Eb Tuba,
1st in Junior Percussion and 1st in
Junior Duet (playing Capriccio
with Toby Pringle - Cornet and
Tuba).
• Andre Brown also won the Upper
Hutt Youth Culture Award at the
Inspire: Upper Hutt Young
Achievers Awards for 2012.
• Prashan Casinader has been
selected as one of about 40
students in New Zealand to attend
the National Shakespeare Youth
Company camp in Term 3.
• At the Regional Young Singer in
Harmony competition the quartet
of Sam Coad, Cameron Collins,
Aaditya Bhamidipati and Joshua
Fonacier were selected for the
finals. Also the chorus of Timothy
Fraser, Logan Church, Aaditya
Bhamidipati, Brandon Couch,
Alfred Hoi, Joshua Fonacier,
Cameron Collins, Kees
Rozenberg, Sam Coad, Henry
Cassin, Jordan Felderhof and
Samuel Purchas made it to the
finals. Both groups will compete
against other secondary schools
from around New Zealand for the
National title in Auckland in
September.
• Jamie Booth has been selected in
the New Zealand Under 19
Underwater Hockey team.
• James O’Reilly and Jack Ross have

directly reflect upon the School and I expect this to be of
the highest standard.
Mr Keys has put a tremendous amount of effort and
planning into this trip and I wish him and the participants
all the best.

Caleb Hewson have been selected
for the Under 13 Hutt Valley
Representative Rugby team and
will be representing Hutt Valley at
the Central Zone Rugby
tournament in Wanganui over the
school holidays.
• Jacob Campion, Cameron
Ferriera, Samuel Champion,
Joshua Southall, Jesse Tashkoff
and Joshua Nydam have been
selected for the Under 12 Hutt
Valley Representative Rugby
team.
• Jacob Campion was placed 3rd for
11 year old boys at the Capital
Coast Junior Surf series, surf
lifesaving for Lyall Bay.
• Tim Robertson was the winner of
the under-19 Vosseler Shield race
at Mt Victoria in May.
