The completion of the campaign for the Golden<br />
Center puts <strong>Saint</strong> <strong>Thomas</strong> <strong>More</strong> Chapel in a<br />
wonderful period in the evolution of Catholic<br />
ministry at <strong>Yale</strong>. As an undergraduate in the<br />
1960s, I found a supportive Catholic ministry led<br />
by Fr. Russell, but I did not feel a strong sense of<br />
community. When my son, Ted, arrived at <strong>Yale</strong><br />
in 1996, he found support, programs and a sense<br />
of community. The development and success of<br />
the Golden Center have expanded the resources<br />
and programs available to the <strong>Yale</strong> Catholic<br />
community. Since I became a trustee in 2010, I<br />
have been excited to see the vibrancy, growth and<br />
commitment of the entire STM community to the<br />
expansion of our mission.<br />
I was honored and humbled to be elected Treasurer<br />
and Finance Committee Chair last year. This is an<br />
exciting and challenging time as we wrap up the<br />
capital campaign and develop plans for receiving<br />
and investing the testamentary gift from Tom<br />
Golden’s estate. The Board of Trustees will be<br />
embarking on a strategic planning process to refine<br />
and expand our strategy over the next five years to<br />
insure the continued success and growth of STM<br />
in its service to the <strong>Yale</strong> Community in New Haven<br />
and to the communities where our students and<br />
alumni live and work.<br />
We are grateful for your prayers and financial<br />
