The Guideline looks at the principles of performing a
fire risk assessment in a place of work . It gives better
fire risk management and better control over the fire
hazards .
The Guideline contains different requirements
concerning guidance signs, emergency lighting and
general lighting .
This Guideline helps with the planning, execution
and maintenance of fire safety for individuals with
weakened ability .
The Guideline shows how to calculate a safe distance
between buildings and waste containers . With
the guideline it is possible for owners and occupiers
of premises to prevent fire in a container to spread
into close building .
This guideline emphasises the importance of providing
information and education for young people,
to deter them from committing arson . It deals with
the general principles of that approach and does not
cover technical measures .
9:2005 F Fire safety in restaurants The Guideline is concerned with fire safety in
restaurants . The measures in the guideline will
improve the standard of fire safety in the restaurant .
The principles outlined are not necessarily applicable
in the case of fast food outlets, some open fronted
restaurants, etc .
10:2008 F Smoke alarms in the home This Guideline describes how to install smoke
alarms in dwelling units . It gives guidance for the
choice, locations and maintenance of the different
types of smoke alarms and explains the principles
of operation of the different detectors included in the
alarm units .
11:2005 F Recommended number of fire protection
trained staff
This Guideline specifies different levels of training
and also makes recommendations about how many
persons in a company that should have those levels
training . Different types of companies are given in
the guideline .
