Full of action and fun for all the family, The Hardwicke Players will bring this wellknown story to the stage at the Kings Theatre with performances taking place at 7.30pm on Thursday 17th, Friday 18th & Saturday 19th January 2013, with a matinee also at 2.30pm on Saturday 19th January. Delivered to each house each month and it’s FREE An update from the Royal British Legion The Poppy Appeal rush is now over and all indications show that we are on a par with last year which was a record. Remembrance Sunday was a little different as most of the Branch and the Branch Standard went to the war memorial at Gloucester Park. Those who chose not to go attended our usual ceremony in Tesco’s at 11am on 11th November. This year we were honoured to have a contingent from the Royal Pioneer Corps based at the ARRC at Innsworth. Two of them were in ceremonial uniform and shouldering silver axes. The arrival of the Pioneers caused quite a stir amongst the shoppers as they marched across the Tesco car park. Along with around thirty cadets, the Women’s Section Standard and the Quedgeley Air Training Corps Standard the effect was quite emotional. The 2 minutes silence was absolute, the first time in a long time. After leaving Tesco we all went to our HQ in Green Lane, where we held a wreath laying ceremony at our Memorial Stone, followed by a buffet and a social at the Club. The Tuesday Club held their Christmas Party on the 27th November with 67 members sitting down to Christmas Dinner and presents. Our next meeting will be in January. Our AGM was also held in November, the Committee remains the same as before and have lots of ideas for the coming year. Don’t forget our Burns Night on 18th January, it’s fast becoming a must attend event, only a few tickets are available,. Please phone 729960 if you would like to attend.
