2012
Happy New Year! I want to wish you all a very healthy, happy
and prosperous 2012. Welcome to the second issue of THE
CONNECT.
Over the past few years, the global economy has fluctuated
wildly. Many businesses have experienced challenges, while
others have flourished. I’m pleased to report that our industry
has succeeded, largely because of you! In 2011, nail polish
replaced lipstick as women’s favorite recession-proof luxury.
With the endless colour options nail polish presents, we saw
women of all ages becoming more adventurous in their nail
colour preferences, often opting for brighter and bolder
shades. Nail polish sales soared 54% and this growth is
expected to continue in 2012!
In the next few weeks we will be opening the JESSICA
ACADEMY, our new corporate training center that will host
classes and educational events for professionals worldwide!
We are also pleased to announce the addition of a new Los
Angeles boutique Advertising Agency to our team; they are
busy developing a new JESSICA brand campaign that will be
presented in the next issue of THE CONNECT.
Finally, we would like to thank you for your support in

Bright and bold colours dominated Fashion Week runways throughout the world; however, Paris designers gave
the fashion world more of a pastel hue for the season. They say fashion comes full circle, so don’t be surprised as

The Inspiration An

eye-catching collection of
feminine pieces in shades of pink
were accented by subtle sparkle and
pearl details. Textures and prints in
vivid colours were accented with
crystal detailing and black and pink
petals. Beaded and ruffled pieces
added a special touch to complete
each of the looks. This unique
collection became the inspiration
behind the variations of tones,
textures and finishes in the Heavy
Petal Collection.
A high spirited collection threaded
with strength and conviction that
was clearly all about colour. Looks
were drenched in creative colour
mixtures of pastels and vivid hues.
A combination of fabrics and
textures gave the collection a retro-
floral vibe which was the driving
force behind the shades and colour
names selected.
A noteworthy mix of mood
elevating colours and pieces
inspired by the 80’s. Bold, multi-
colour floral prints were paired with
edgy vests, leather trousers and rock
n’ roll skinny jeans for a romantic
allure with a seductive flair. It was
Cavalli’s creative combinations that
influenced the collection theme.

Spring trends have been
all over the map from vibrant shades to
soft seascape tones this season “anything goes.” As we transition
toward summer, colour trends swing in the opposite direction as
bold hues take a backseat and elegantly understated neutrals take
the wheel.
Minimalistic colours make a big statement, with creamy shades of
gray, white, beige, pale pink and blue giving fingertips a refreshing
contrast from the “norm” and a dash of coral adds a punch of
vibrancy to the mix. This collection exudes luxury and laid-back
femininity that is perfect for all style preferences. Inspiration for
the seasons “it” hues were derived from natural, botanical and
interior design elements. Subdued tones and subtle changes
in texture show a strong crossover between fashion trends and
interior design for a colour palette that is worn and relaxed for a
season of more eclectic and open styles.

Will a GELeration manicure damage the natural nail?
No. GELeration was formulated based on the core fundamentals of the JESSICA
philosophy — dedication to the care and health of natural nails. Jessica believes
in treating the nails from foundation to surface; her unique methods for nail

Feet act as the support system behind our every move
and properly caring for them is a necessity. Now is
the perfect time to take winter-battered tootsies on a
revitalizing journey to recovery with a ZenSpa pedicure.
Add a special touch to your
pedicure services by incorporating a
foot message to help clients relax, relieve tension
and truly enjoy the pedicure experience!

STEP 1
CLEANSE, SANITIZE
& SOFTEN
A. Remove all polish using JESSICA Polish
Remover.
B. Fill the footbath with lukewarm water and
JESSICA Blissful Foot Bath. Client should
remain soaking feet for 5 to 10 minutes.
C. Gently towel dry feet. Apply JESSICA Gentle
Cuticle Remover Gel to each cuticle and
allow to penetrate. Push the cuticles back
using the JESSICA Nail Care Machine or
Orangewood Stick with cotton on the tip.
D. Clip nails straight across to prevent
ingrown toenails.
STEP 4
MASSAGE
A. Apply a generous amount of Silkening Soufflé Lotion to
client’s legs and feet. Starting at the calf work lotion in
using long downward strokes. Repeat motion, now starting
just above the ankle working upward toward the top of
the calf.
B. At the ball and heel of the foot, make clockwise circles.
C. Rotate the ankle in large clockwise circles, next repeat
motion counterclockwise. Applying light pressure gently push
the foot toward the client and back to you.
D. Repeat steps a-c on the opposite foot.
E. Wash each foot thoroughly.

PURIFY &
EXFOLIATE
A. Working with one foot at a time, remove
from the bath and towel dry.
B. Apply JESSICA Purify Enzyme Scrub or
Perfection Natural Salt Polish to pumice
stone and scrub the sole of the foot
vigorously, concentrating on calluses or
corns. Repeat steps a-b on opposite foot.
C. Once both feet have been exfoliated, brush
them clean under the water, using a bristle
brush.
D. Gently towel dry the feet. Use the towel
over your finger to trace over cuticles to
remove any remaining dead skin.
Prebook your clients next appointment and
remind them with a courtesy call 3-4 days prior!
STEP 3
HYDRATE &
CONDITION
A. Generously apply JESSICA Balance
Foot Masque to the entire foot and
ankle.
B. Wrap each foot in plastic wrap and place
feet in JESSICA Thermal Booties for 5
minutes.
C. Unwrap feet and rinse Masque off in fresh
Blissful Foot Bath water or remove with a
hot moist towel.
STEP 5
NAIL ANALYSIS
& TREATMENT
A. Analyze each nail and choose products most beneficial
for your client’s current needs.
B. Apply two coats of the appropriate JESSICA Basecoat
for dry, brittle, normal or damaged nails.
C. Apply two coats of JESSICA Custom Nail Colour.
D. Apply one coat of JESSICA Top Priority.
E. Finish with one coat of Brilliance and a drop of Quick Dry.
F. Spray JESSICA Refreshed Foot Spray as a finishing touch.
