TOWN: Tate looking to waste no time in contributing at CTC

But no where near satisfied, Tate has not stopped
there, training with Edwards and VanGuard two to
three times a day for as many as six days a week.
“We at the track at Lassiter High School from 10
to 11 in the morning, shooting from 11:30 to 1:30, and
work on ball handling from 7 to 10 a night,” said Tate,
the son of Benny and Tanya Tate. “It’s definitely even
more intense then what I went through last summer,
but I’m trying to get ready for college workouts. As
I’ve gotten older, I’ve started to understand more of
the little things I didn’t think about before, and better
shape you’re in, the better player you’re going to be.”
And from what he’s seen, Edwards said he believes
Tate is ready for the next level.
“I think he’ll definitely be able to make the
adjustment as long as long as he uses his strengths
and continues to work on his weaknesses,” Edwards
explained. “I expect him to average 20 points a game
his first year in junior college. I believe he has that in
him. He had goals for his senior year at Sequoyah and
he exceed every one of them, so we want to set big
goals (for Chattahoochee Tech) that he really has to
work and strive for.”
“I think I can contribute to helping the team win,
right away,” Tate said. “I feel like I helped start
something at Sequoyah, and now I want to do the
same for Chattahoochee Tech.”
And from his experiences, Tate said he has advice
to anyone looking to excel at anything they do.
