❚ General introduction to Thermo - /Cryo-therapy 

Heat and Coldness are supporting and preparing methods for many 

physiotherapeutical treatments. They should, depending on its kind, 

improve the blood circulation, relax the muscular and connective 

tissue structure and work pain-reliefing. 

With thermo applications the metabolism of the patient will be 

improved, the muscular structure will be relaxed, which leads in 

combination with other therapys to a better and faster healing process. 

Here are to mention mainly fango and paraffin packs, natural mud 

and peat packs as well as infrared-light treatments. 

The Cryo-therapy will be mainly used for pain-reliefing at inflammatory 

processes and for avoiding irritable conditions of the skin. 

It will be applied as cold compresses, as direct skin treatment with 

shipped ice, as partial ice bathes in foot and arm tubs or by special 

cold-air devices. 

For all fields of the Thermo- and Cryo-therapy BEKA-Hospited has 

developed based on its long experience, broad know-how and 

highly qualified employees, products which not only meet the 

patient expectations regarding treatment success and hygienics

❚ Fango / Fango-Paraffin 

This method uses a paste-kind mixture, which consists mainly out 

of vulcanic ash. The paste will be put on the patient skin with a temperature 

around 50–55 °C and improoves the blood circulation 

within the tissues. By that muscle tenseness will be reliefed and 

pain reduced. Besides the minerals of this mixture have good 

influence of the whole organism of each patient. 

Fango-Paraffin is a derivation of Fango, where Paraffin (wax) will be 

added to the Fango. By doing this the mixure gets a formable consistence. 

The Fango-Paraffin will be put fluidly on storage plates 

and after cooling down to ca. 55 °C, it will be placed on the corresponding 

body parts. The Fango-Paraffin mixture can be re-used by 

sterilization process.

❚ Natural mud packs (Ascend) 

These packs are a derivation of the classical mud bath. Here the 

muddy mixture will be not filled into a tub in which the patient will 

take a bath, but it will used like a cushion-pack. 

The blood circulation within the tissues and muscular structure will 

significantly increase and a soft, but intensive stimulation of the 

meatabolism will appear. The effect is similar to the Fango-Paraffin 

treatment, but the strain on the cardio-vascular system is lower, 

since the starting treatment temperature is lower and slowly rises 

(ascending) during the treatment period.

❚ Silt packs 

Silt is a mud-kind depositing in the ocean with ingredients of fine 

sand and organic parts. The natural salt content of the sea water 

together with the organic and anorganic ingredients of the silt 

achieve its healing function. 

After the removal from its natural storage, the mud/silt flats of the 

ocean shores, the silt will be carefully prepared. It will be cleaned, 

stirred and ventilated to keep it soft and processable. As a natural 

product no outside ingredients will be added. 


Cryo-Therapy

Our company is certified according to DIN 

EN ISO 9001:2000, ISO 13485:2003 and 

guide line 93/42/EWG attachment VI. 

❚ Hay flower bags 

These are cotton made bags filled with hay and herbal grass. Their 

ingredients will be activated by wet heating in a special designed 

hay bag heating unit. The treatment is done at a temperature of ca. 

50 °C. The aromatic oil-content and odor of the hay besides the 

heat function do increase the blood circulation, also it effects reflectoric 

the inner organs. 

❚ Infrared-heating lamps 

This is an easy useable thermo-therapy. By using a special infraredheating 

lamp, which will be placed above the body part, an increasing 

heat field will occur. Also with this treatment method it comes 

to an increasing of the blood circulation of all tissues. The Infrared 

heating therapy has low impact on the cardio-vascular system and 

can be used on wide areas at the human body.

The fango-paraffin- and natural mud preparation units of BEKA- 

Hospitec can be adjusted to any room-size needed in the Physiotherapy 

department. The "Fango-kitchen" can be equipped with single 

units in different sizes up to complete kitchen-systems. 

❚ Hygienic-kitchen systems 

BEKA-Hospitec kitchen systems are made of an extremly stabile 

carrying frame, made of welded and powder-coated steel-profiles 

on which a high-capacity stainless steel working plate is mounted. 

The size can be free choosen, also seamless welded sinks in different 

sizes are available. The different units below the plate like heating 

cabinets, moveable plate trolleys or drawer trolleys can be 

adjusted individually according to each customers kitchen size and 

needs. All below-the-plate systems are on castors and can be easily 

removed for hygienic cleaning purposes.

Thermo-compress heating systems for Natur 

❚ Use and working with the Natural-Mud packs 

In the compress-heating units "Hydrotherm" the re-useable thermo-compresses 

are stored at a constant temperature of 55°–65° 

C. Only when the patient comes for this thermo-therapy, the stored 

at room temperature, disposable natural-mud pack will be put on 

the thermo-compress. 

The, while the first 3 minutes increasing/ascending, heat avoids a 

heating-shock and availables a pleasant habituation to the final treatment 

temperature. 

Through the special developed fleece there will be no separation 

between the mud and the skin. By that fleece, the active substances 

will be fully absorbed by the skin, while the sweat will be absorbed 

by the pack fleece. The slowly rising temperature opens the 

pores of the skin and asures an entry of the active substances into 

deeper skin tissues. 

The higher starting temperature of the thermo-compress guarantees 

a constant treatment temperature from 44°–55° C over the 

whole treatment period. Remaining substances can be easily removed 

from the patient skin by using a wet towel. 

The used natural-mud pack can be disposed eco-friendly since the 

foil is ground-water neutral and the mud is pure nature anyway. The 

thermo-compress which had no direct contact with the patient 

body, will be put back in the "Hydrotherm" units and is ready for 

use again after 10–15 minutes. 

❚ Thermo-compress heating systems "Hydrotherm" 

Technical perfected units for heating of thermo-compresses and 

hay-flower bags. Completely made of high-class stainless steel 

with double-paneled insulation for low energy consumption. Quick 

heating of the water by use of thermostatic controlled heating mats 

for temperature between 30°–80° C. Inclusive inside compress storage 

shelves for easy removal and constant heating of the compresses. 

All units with double protected drain valves for complete 

emptying of the water. High user-protection by in-build overheating 

protection switch. User-friendly control panel with on/off-switch,

Pack-couch "Velvet" 

❚ Pack-couch system "Velvet" – 

The ultimate relax system for patient and therapist 

The speciality of this relaxsystem comes from the possibility to 

store the patient almost weightless on a matress filled with warm 

water. The patient will feel the movement of the water, he will feel 

the pleasant heat and that without getting in touch directly with the 

water. 

The storage results in an absolute pressure-free environment. Due 

to the size of the isolated covering blanket, the patient can be double 

covered so the heat can not escape and stays around the 

patient. Furthermore due to covering the whole body with heat and 

water, the feeling of weightlessness and highest relaxation will 

occur. Simultaneously the absorbation ability of the skin is increased 

and the used healing or cosmetical substances can perform 

their most optimal effects. 

The use of this system stretches from the classical massage preparation 

by application of heat up to the intensive treatment of healing 

and cosmetical substances like mud, silt, hay, herbs, salt etc. 

For that the pack system "Velvet" also fulfills highest expectations 

on hygienic views, there will be a disposable foil stored between 

patient and matress. After that the patient will receive the desired 

substances (whole body, partial body), will get covered with that foil 

and then covered with the soft insulation blanket. 

Different than known from classical bathes the substances will be 

used pure not watered-down. Since the patient does not get in 

touch with the couch itself, extended cleaning time disappear and 

the patient always finds a fully hygienic pack treatment. 

The reposing area is a tub-like stretcher bowl, inlayed with a highly 

elastic special matress filled with water and inside adjustable (up 

to 45 °C) matress heating system. The matress can be removed 

and is seamless for perfect disinfection. All pack couches are made 

of a complete self-carrying glasfibre construction.
