Owner Sandy Saldano says, “As a cancer survivor for 17 years, this is a cause near and dear to my heart. More than that, I have seen what massage therapy can do for survivors in dealing with the recovery process.” Therapeutic Kneads offers a wide range of services that can assist in this process, including manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) for post-surgical swelling (edema) and massage for decreasing stress and relieving insomnia. “We welcome any opportunity to educate the community about massage therapy,” Sandy adds. “Massage is not a luxury. Because it can alleviate pain and reduce the damage done by stress, massage is important for everyone to take better care of themselves.” Other Highland Park salons to participate on Tuesday, December 2 are Femmes, Andrews Coiffures, Michael Thomas, Salon Morris and Taylor Reese. Additionally, the salon chain Great Clips, with 114 salons in Illinois, is on board statewide. She now has a logo, and a dedicated web site is in development, to be launched before year’s end.
