Journey Practitioner Discusses Leadership Training On Oct. 22, Naina Kapadia presented an introduction to the Visionary Leadership program. She asked attendees to write down the names of leaders who inspire them. Some examples offered were Colin Powell, Jack Welch and Jesus Christ. She then asked the group to write down those special qualities that make each leader successful. She then posed these questions: What percentage of each quality do you have within yourself ? What is keeping you from being 100 percent? The process of the Journey, of which Kapadia is an Accredited Journey Practitioner, digs deep within the self to answer those questions. What are your limiting beliefs or fears? What is working behind the scenes to keep you “stuck” or “small”? Kapadia’s leadership training offers opportunities to empower yourself and recognize the creativity within yourself for your personal and professional lives. Don’t hand out torn or worn business cards. Your business card should be clean and up to date. When receiving a business card, take a good look at it for a few seconds. Treat the card with respect, as though it were a gift. Make a point of complimenting it (design or logo, etc.) or clarifying the information it contains before putting it away. Be aware of business card etiquette in other cultures. For example, in China, one should never write on a business card unless directed to do so. In Japan, business cards are always received with both hands, and in India, always use the right hand to give and receive business cards. Sanitize: the cleaning of pathogenic microorganisms (e.g., from eating utensils) Disinfect: reducing the number of viable microorganisms present Sterilize: killing all microorganisms present IEHA Quarterly, the official publication of the International Executive Housekeepers Association, Hawaii Chapter, could use your support!
