CREDENTIALS<br />
Creden� als for all Tusculum College basketball<br />
games are for working media only. Requests for media<br />
creden� a ls should be made at least fi ve days prior to <strong>the</strong><br />
game. Requests should be directed to Dom Donnelly,<br />
Assistant Athle� c Director for Media Rela� ons. Requests<br />
from media covering visi� ng teams will be confi rmed<br />
with that school’s sports informa� on director. Spouses,<br />
dates, children and o<strong>the</strong>r nonworkers are not permi� ed<br />
in working media areas in compliance with <strong>the</strong> working<br />
code of <strong>the</strong> United States Basketball Writers’ Associa� o n<br />
and <strong>the</strong> College Sports Informa� on Directors of America<br />
(CoSIDA).<br />
Creden� als can be picked up at <strong>the</strong> � cket table at<br />
<strong>the</strong> main entrance to Pioneer Arena.<br />
MEDIA SERVICES<br />
The Tusculum College Athle� c Media Rela� ons<br />
Offi ce will provide rosters for both teams as well as game<br />
notes, media guides, and cumula� v e sta� s� cs prior to � poff<br />
. Sta� s� cal summaries will be distributed at hal� ime<br />
and complete sta� s� cal packets (box score, play-by-play,<br />
specialty sta� s� cs) will be available approximately 10-15<br />
minutes following <strong>the</strong> game. Telephones, copier and fax<br />
services are available on a fi rst-come, fi rst-serve basis.<br />
Wireless Internet is also available throughout <strong>the</strong> arena<br />
as well as e<strong>the</strong>rnet connec� o ns.<br />

Directors of America (CoSIDA) and <strong>the</strong> United States<br />
Basketball Writers’ Associa� o n reminds everyone that<br />
cheering or jeering for ei<strong>the</strong>r team from <strong>the</strong> working press<br />

TOBACCO POLICY<br />
In adherence with <strong>the</strong> NCAA, smoking and <strong>the</strong> use<br />
of tobacco products are not permi� ed in <strong>the</strong> press row<br />
areas. This includes smokeless and chewing tobacco.<br />

PARKING<br />
Parking is on a fi rst-come, fi rst-serve basis. Parking<br />
is available adjacent to Pioneer Arena in front of <strong>the</strong><br />

Tusculum College will adhere to all NCAA<br />
Guidelines regarding photography. Photographers and<br />
videographers are permi� ed to shoot in <strong>the</strong> end zones<br />
only.<br />
RADIO<br />
Space has been reserved for recognized radio<br />
sta� o ns of visi� ng teams. ONLY ONE visi� ng radio sta� on<br />
from <strong>the</strong> visi� ng team will be allowed to broadcast as<br />
designated by <strong>the</strong>ir respec� ve school. Radio crews<br />
should request permission to broadcast games from<br />
Pioneer Arena through <strong>the</strong> Tusculum College Athle� c<br />
Media Rela� ons Offi ce. A courtesy line will be provided,<br />
but radio sta� ons will be responsible for all long distance<br />
calls. Only collect or credit card calls may be made using<br />
this line. Sorry, but Tusculum can only provide space for<br />
two broadcasters.<br />
INTERVIEWS<br />
Selected Tusculum College players and coaches will<br />
be available throughout <strong>the</strong> season for interviews with<br />
members of <strong>the</strong> media. All prac� ces are closed to <strong>the</strong><br />
media.<br />
It is, important, however that all requests for<br />
interviews be made through <strong>the</strong> Tusculum College<br />
Athle� c Media Rela� ons Offi ce at (423) 636-7326 or<br />
email at ddonnelly@tusculum.edu. This policy allows us<br />
to arrange a � me that will not interfere with a studentathlete’s<br />
academic schedule, which has TOP PRIORITY.<br />
Players’ phone numbers will NOT be given out.<br />
POST GAME INTERVIEWS<br />
Tusculum College head coach Michael Jones and<br />
selected players will be available for interviews following<br />
each game. At all home games, coach and player<br />
interviews will be held courtside next to <strong>the</strong> scorer’s<br />
table.<br />
Each visi� ng team will set its own postgame policy<br />
and it will be announced on press row. BOTH LOCKER<br />
ROOMS ARE CLOSED TO THE MEDIA.<br />
PIONEER SPORTS NETWORK<br />
The Pioneer Sports Network handles all broadcasts of Tusculum College Athle� cs<br />
on WSMG Radio (1450 AM), and on <strong>the</strong> Internet at www.TusculumPioneers.com and<br />
www.redzonemedia.com. The “Voice of <strong>the</strong> Pioneers” Brian Stayton will describe all <strong>the</strong><br />
ac� on.<br />
WSMG will serve as <strong>the</strong> exclusive radio sta� on for Tusculum College Basketball. Gameday<br />
broadcasts begin 15 minutes prior to � poff with <strong>the</strong> Pioneer Pre-Game Show.<br />
Stayton returns to <strong>the</strong> microphone as <strong>the</strong> “Voice of <strong>the</strong> Pioneers” for his 16th<br />
consecutive season. Since 1996, Stayton has served in a variety of roles in <strong>the</strong><br />
Greeneville broadcast community. He has served as sports director, program director<br />
and on-air talent. He has also handled play-by-play duties for <strong>the</strong> Greeneville<br />
Astros, Greene County high school sports as well as <strong>the</strong> GreenBank Ladies’ Classic.<br />
Prior to working at WSMG, Stayton gained experience with many radio outlets in <strong>the</strong><br />
Sou<strong>the</strong>ast and <strong>the</strong> Midwest including WLW-Radio in Cincinna� , Ohio, <strong>the</strong> fl agship sta� on<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Cincinna� Reds.<br />
Stayton is a member of <strong>the</strong> Tennessee Associa� o n of Broadcasters and also serves<br />
as a Division II regional ranker for <strong>the</strong> Na� onal Collegiate Baseball Writers Associa� on.<br />
The South Bend, Ind. na� v e was an All-SAC forward for <strong>the</strong> Carson-Newman College<br />
men’s soccer team. The 1995 Carson-Newman graduate is married to <strong>the</strong> former Erin<br />
Hahlen of Greeneville and <strong>the</strong>y have two children, son Connor and daughter Gabrielle. In 2008, Stayton was <strong>the</strong><br />
recipient of <strong>the</strong> Tusculum Sports Benefactor Award.
