Table 61 lists the MFP component series employed by the BLS and the<br />

corresponding concepts estimated by IGI as specified in Table 34 of the CY 2011 PFS<br />

proposed rule and in this final rule. Please note that, in BLS' revised MFP estimates<br />

published on August 24, 2010, the index series was rebased from 2000=100 to 2005=100.<br />

Thus, Table 61 refers to the BLS series in 2005 dollars whereas Table 34 of the CY 2011<br />

PFS proposed rule referred to the BLS series in 2000 dollars.<br />

In this final rule with comment period, we are finalizing the same IGI method as<br />

described in the CY 2011 PFS proposed rule, with minor technical improvements to the<br />

underlying concepts used to calculate MFP. We have also included a more detailed<br />

description below of the methodology (which was described in the proposed rule and<br />

which we are finalizing in this final rule with comment period) used to calculate MFP in<br />

response to the public comments we received.
