Hunters End Demolition of existing Mr Saxby commented that he
Hay Lane dwelling. had asked the Enforcement and
12/10053/ENCOND Monitoring Officer to investigate
now that the replacement dwelling
appeared to be occupied.
9b. STATUS REPORT:
RECREATION GROUND AND ALLOTMENTS:
Mr Kelly advised the Meeting that due to the urgency involved an Order had been placed on
ROOTS to carry out the work of resurfacing the driveway running along the allotments to
the children’s playground area. This work will commence during the week beginning 19 th .
March and complete by the end of March when an Invoice will be submitted to BCC as
requested by them.
HIGHWAYS:
i. Footway extension by bridge:- Has been marked out and completion now promised by
31 st . March. Mrs Dorling referred to a telephone conversation that she had had with Mr Ken
Moloughney of BCC Highways Dept. on 12 March and summarised briefly the main points of
discussion as follows:-
a. Railings/bollards along this stretch of pavement. BCC would not support these on safety
grounds. BCC would however support a solid white line painted along this stretch to alert
drivers.
b. Extension of zig-zag lines outside school. KM to write to Mr and Mrs Bates about
extending in front of their house – otherwise will extend up to the garage entrance track for
Alhussen Gardens. KM will advise when response received from Bates.
c. Walkway improvement. This area is called a safety margin for the narrow road – not a
walkway. Hence BCC would not allow a coloured surface (narrow road) nor footsteps to be
painted on margin. However they would improve the surface
d. Lollipop crossing on Fulmer Road. KM advised consult with Safer Routes to School –
