I-Pitch<br />

The latest generation of artificial grass pitches has been <strong>in</strong>stalled<br />

at Stobart Stadium <strong>Halton</strong> and will be managed <strong>in</strong> partnership with<br />

<strong>Halton</strong> <strong>Borough</strong> <strong>Council</strong> and Widnes Vik<strong>in</strong>gs. When not <strong>in</strong> use by the Vik<strong>in</strong>gs, the i-pitch<br />

is available for the community to hire for a whole host of activities such as corporate<br />

events, birthday parties and stag do’s. It also transforms <strong>in</strong>to a five-a-side & seven-aside<br />

football and touch rugby facility dur<strong>in</strong>g the even<strong>in</strong>g and plays host to a number of<br />

local competitions. The i-pitch is open to hire. If you like to express your <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> book<strong>in</strong>g<br />

a pitch please contact a member of the i-pitch team on 0151 510 6000.<br />

<strong>Sport</strong>ivate<br />

<strong>Sport</strong>ivate is a £32 million Lottery national<br />

programme that gives 14-25 year olds access to sixweek<br />

courses <strong>in</strong> a range of sports. These sports <strong>in</strong> <strong>Halton</strong> <strong>in</strong>clude football, netball,<br />

dance/gym, table tennis and many others.<br />

The programme is aimed at those who are not currently choos<strong>in</strong>g to take part <strong>in</strong> sport<br />

<strong>in</strong> their own time, or are do<strong>in</strong>g so for a very limited amount of time, and will support<br />

them to cont<strong>in</strong>ue play<strong>in</strong>g sport <strong>in</strong> their community after the six weeks is up. Dur<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

six weeks a participant may work towards an event or personal challenge. <strong>Sport</strong>ivate<br />

is fully <strong>in</strong>clusive and we are work<strong>in</strong>g with our local sports clubs, Merseyside <strong>Sport</strong>s<br />

Partnership and National Govern<strong>in</strong>g Bodies to provide the best 6 week course of<br />

activity available, with the option to l<strong>in</strong>k <strong>in</strong> with a local team and carry that sport on<br />

after the sessions are f<strong>in</strong>ished.<br />

• Riverside - Day Leaders • Run <strong>in</strong> <strong>Halton</strong><br />

SPORT MAKERS<br />

The <strong>Sport</strong> Makers programme, funded by the National Lottery, will<br />

recruit tens of thousands of new sports volunteers aged 16 years<br />

and over to organise and lead community sport<strong>in</strong>g activities across the country. <strong>Sport</strong><br />

Makers are the people who directly make sport happen at the local level.<br />
