SPORTS LEADERS UK COURSES<br />
Young Leaders for ages 9 – 13yrs (Free of Charge)<br />
The Young Leader Award is a programme of leadership tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for young people<br />
between the ages of 9 and 13 that promotes them work<strong>in</strong>g with younger children,<br />
teach<strong>in</strong>g leadership skills through a range of games and activities. The Young Leader<br />
Award has been designed for use <strong>in</strong> a variety of different delivery sett<strong>in</strong>gs, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />
primary and secondary schools, uniformed organisations and sports and community<br />
groups that are affiliated to the local authority.<br />

Tuesday 31 July <strong>2012</strong> 10:00am to 1:00pm Brookvale Recreation Centre, Runcorn<br />
Day Courses for age 16yrs + (Free of Charge – <strong>Halton</strong> Residents)<br />
This is a practical, nationally recognised qualification where candidates learn by do<strong>in</strong>g,<br />
rather than through written work. A candidates ability as a competent leader is<br />
assessed by observation rather than written tests.<br />

Level 2 <strong>in</strong> Community <strong>Sport</strong>s Leadership for ages 16yrs +<br />
(£30.00 per person – <strong>Halton</strong> Residents)<br />
The level 2 award I community sports leadership gives people aged 16+ the skills<br />
needed to plan and deliver safe sport<strong>in</strong>g and recreational activities. It develops vital<br />
leadership skills such as communication, organisation and motivation, whilst <strong>in</strong>still<strong>in</strong>g<br />
the confidence and desire <strong>in</strong> people to make a difference with their own communities.<br />
