Since the 2003 award of the Microsoft Enterprise License Agreement, Softmart
has aided the Army in their management of an array of software acquisition
and license management situations.
Softmart has over 20 years of solid experience in providing software
licensing expertise. This expertise is extended to the Army as a
resource to support decisions involving Microsoft product licensing
and the Army’s initiatives in support of the warfighter.
Softmart provides custom web based tools to aid the Army in
sustaining effective license management, facilitating efficient order
approval, processing and tracking and maintaining a commanding
control of the distribution of Microsoft product licensing.
In addition, the Army realizes sound software license tracking and the
availability of a comprehensive audit trail. These tools also result in
an additional layer of validation to the Army regarding the regulating of
Microsoft product licensing and the enforcement of CIO policy.
Softmart assists in the distribution of the Army Golden Master for servers and
desktops. This includes electronic software downloads, enhanced in 2007.
In addition, Softmart also oversees the delivery of physical media and VLK’s.
