PREPARING TO STUDY

Many of our students choose to do a 

preparation programme or a bridge 

programme before starting their main 

course with us. We offer a range of courses 

to help students make the transition to UK 

study. 

English Language courses 

We offer 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9 and 12 month General English 

and Academic English courses to help students 

improve their English before starting their courses. 

We can design a study programme tailored for you 

that helps your English language before starting your 

main course. 

All our language courses are approved by the British 

Council and we are a certified Cambridge English 

Language testing centre. 

International Foundation Programme 

Our one-year International Foundation Programme is 

designed for students who need one year of academic 

preparation before starting their bachelors degree 

course. We offer pathways in; business, science, law, 

computing, electronics, social sciences and humanities. 

Pre Masters courses 

We offer one-semester Pre-Masters programmes in 

business and in computer science, for those graduates 

and diploma holders who need a short ‘bridge 

programme’ before starting their masters 

or MBA. 

Credit Transfer 

We accept credit transfer from many international 

universities and institutes, so that students can join 

year 2 or year 3 of a three-year degree programme.

FACULTIES

The Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Design 

is one of the top schools of Architecture in the 

UK. We are a vibrant community, committed 

to high quality teaching and research. All of our 

courses give students the practical skills and 

confidence needed to practice as an architect 

or design professional. 

Our internationally renowned Faculty aims to 

give students the skills and confidence needed 

to become respected professionals. 

Teaching staff come from some of London’s 

most exciting architectural practices, and 

combine experimentation and research with 

extensive practical experience. 

Graduates go on to work as architects, 

architectural assistants, interior designers or 

in related fields of research, journalism and

The Faculty of Law, Governance and 

International Relations is one of the largest 

academic bodies of its discipline in the UK, with 

around 70 specialist academic staff and a range 

of excellent courses. We continue to make 

the most of our London location by building 

strong links with leading legal and political 

professionals. 

This is part of our commitment to enhance 

our students’ employment prospects. The Law 

Society and the Bar Council officially recognise 

our LLB programmes as Qualifying Law Degrees. 

This means students can go on to train for 

Professional Practice in Law. 

Our clinical legal opportunities programme 

brings students together with city practices and 

non-governmental organisations. 

Graduates have gone on to a variety of careers in

The Faculty of Life Sciences has a £30 million 

Science Centre, which offers unparalleled 

facilities for teaching and research, including one 

of the largest open plan laboratories in Europe. 

The rigorous combination of research skills and 

teamwork make graduates of this Faculty highly 

employable. Many graduates go on to careers 

in research, education, health, social work or 

human resources. 

This innovative Faculty combines the School of 

Psychology and the School of Human Sciences. 

The School of Human Sciences 

Has close links with local hospitals and with the 

pharmaceutical and food industries. Academic 

staff run research-based health clinics for the 

treatment of chronic illnesses such as obesity. 

The School of Psychology 

Has been teaching Psychology for more than 

40 years. The school applies psychology to a 

wide range of areas including forensics, sport, 

addiction, counselling and mental health.

The strength of London Met IT School is its 

emphasis on critical thinking in software 

development and London Met Business School 

(LMBS) stretches your imagination and makes 

you look at the world and business in a very 

practical way. 

I never thought I would study for my 

undergraduate and postgraduate at the same 

university with a gap of six years in between, 

and neither had I expected that I would learn so 

much about approaches to problem solving. At 

London Met the focus is on developing 

students for the business world. One of 

the many workshops, “Business Etiquette”, 

definitely built up my confidence to present 

myself in front of employers and to impress 

them with the skills I developed at London Met. 

At LMBS, the highlight is industry experience. I 

had an opportunity to visit Southampton Port,

works in terms of supply chain; this was hands 

on exposure to practical work.

FEES AND SCHOLARSHIPS 

There are two parts to the financing of your studies; the cost of 

tuition and the cost of living. 

Our tuition fees are listed on our website here

We estimate that the cost of living in London for one year is 

about £9,000. 

EU undergraduate students often have access to UK student 

tuition fee loans and may be also eligible for other funding from 

their home Government. 

EU postgraduate students may be eligible for funding from their 

home countries, or can work full-time in UK and study part-time 

if they wish. 

If you are a student from outside the EU, you will usually need 

to pay a deposit before we issue your visa invitation to the UK 

(usually known as a ‘CAS’). 

You will usually be given the choice of either paying 50% of your 

fees when you start your course and 50% three months later, 

or paying 100% of your fees when you start your course. Some 

discounts are available for full pre-payment of fees. 

We offer partial scholarships to students from certain countries, 

as part of our global commitment to education. 

We offer a range of alumni bursaries and scholarships for non-EU 

students who have studied with us before, or whose family are 

alumni or students of our University.
