Brian Azevedo is a visual artist and a musician. He's working on closing the gap. His
sounds can be heard at goldleaf.bandcamp.com.
Emily Carrasco is an undergraduate Textile Major with a Writing/Lit Minor at CCA.
She tends to find herself in the heart of her nostalgia much too often. She is still
mastering the knowledge that sound effects are not a success at describing her
thoughts, and is currently searching for the most epic swing set throughout the East
Bay and SF.
Brian Conner is a writer bouncing between poles scraping deep for something pure.
Chloe Crossman is a senior in the Writing and Literature department at CCA,
limping steadily along toward graduation.
Bex Freund is a 4th-‐year Individualized major from Los Angeles. She rarely
ventures out of the dimly lit hermit cave that serves as a bedroom/studio, but can
on occasion be seen wandering around campus with a slightly befuddled expression.
Enjoys food, sleep, and air intake.
I enjoy many things including,
Kacie Gansel has been an artist at heart ever since she can remember. Her hands
are the key to translating her ideas and creative zest into 3 and 2 dimensional
objects. She feels like the most beautiful things have already been created in nature.
Kacie’s goal is to incorporate this beauty (nature) into her work.
Sofia Greenberg is a Writing and Literature major at CCA. She grew up in rural New
Mexico, where horses and old pick-‐ups become indistinguishable from each other in
the snow. Her fears include motels, fish, and the inability to stay vulnerable. Her
hobbies include writing, tango, and playing drums.
Shelby Hinte is a Sophomore Writing and Literature major from Southern New
Mexico. She was once quoted as saying her biggest turn on is a man with a dog. Her
biggest turnoff however, is a man with a baby.
Allison Hummel is a sophomore Writing and Literature major at CCA. She wants to
know: have you ever seen the rain, coming down on a sunny day?
Mark Johnsen is an undergraduate senior in the photography department at CCA.
He was born along the muddy banks of the Mississippi river in 1986, picked up by a
trucker and transplanted to California to be raised in a small but loving co-‐op. His
artistic practice is specifically triggered by his rocky upbringing and he employs his
desire for stable ground through his highly artificial landscapes. People who know
Mark best think he is really Canadian.
Drew Anthony Pittock lives in Berkeley, CA with his cat Gaze. He will be receiving
his BFA in writing/literature in 2012, and doesn’t know where he’ll end up after
that, though he has an idea or two.
David Prinvale is a graduating writing and literature major. “Kiss my grits.”
Sophia Rowland is a graduating writing and literature major. She's published one of
her stories 'Alex' in Humble Pie volume 1 and previously worked on past issues of
Humble Pie volumes 2 and 3 as a fiction editor and then as creative director. Sophia
is currently working on her thesis, 'The Adventures of Rei Callowell' which is for
young adults.
Anika Sanders: Today I create. Tomorrow I destroy. Sometimes I observe, other
times I act. Art making is a way to process my thoughts and experiences, to
physicalize the nebulous realm of dreams and visions.
Lael Seltzer: I create to express my opinions, dreams, frustrations, and views on life
as an individual human cast into a divine and treacherous universe, most of which
we are sheltered from by the American veil.
Erika Miyagiwa is a graduating Photography Major originally from
Seattle, Washington. She has been mark-making and photographing in the
Bay Area for the past four years while attending CCA.
