They arrived and discovered the female had been picked-up from a local bar/restaurant and transported to her apartment. When she reached her destination, she decided she wasn’t going to pay her fare and assaulted the cab driver. Moreover, she yelled profanities at the police. After speaking with officers, she agreed to pay her fare, but was still belligerent and unable to care for herself. Consequently, she was transported to Ramsey County Detox Center. Darn motorcycle….. While on routine patrol on March 16th, Officer Pederson observed a motorcycle ridden by two passengers fall over in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant. She stopped to check on their welfare, where the driver provided false information by attempting to identify himself as his brother. Through further investigation, the driver’s true identity was discovered where it was learned he had a suspended driver’s license. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Dakota County Jail for gross misdemeanor false information to police, driving after suspension, and a motorcycle instruction permit violation. The rider was released to friends. Interesting family dynamics….. On March 21st, officers were called to a home on Lexington Avenue regarding a person who was currently at the house and had outstanding warrants for his arrest. A record’s check confirmed two outstanding Dakota County warrants and one Chisago County warrant for a man who was reported to be in the house. Police arrived, located the suspect, and took him into custody without incident. He was taken to the Dakota County Jail. Officers were tipped off to the suspect’s whereabouts by a family member. I’m drunk and and high…… On March 22nd, while on routine patrol, Officer Thul observed a vehicle drive into a local gas station and park next to his squad car. The driver stumbled out from his car and entered the building. Officer Thul approached the suspect and could immediately detect an alcoholic odor coming from him. Thul asked the suspect how much alcohol he had consumed and the man responded, “Quite a bit.” The suspect also admitted to smoking marijuana. Initial testing indicated the suspect had a blood alcohol level of .18. He was arrested and taken into custody for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of small amount of marijuana. Great job neighbor!!! On March 24th, Officers responded to a home on Overlook Court regarding a burglary in progress. A neighbor phoned 911 to report the burglary when he witnessed two people leave his neighbor’s home and get into a waiting vehicle. The neighbor believed the house should be vacant because he knew the homeowners were out of town. Witnesses were able to obtain a license plate number for the suspect vehicle where Officer Hogan responded to the address listed in the State database. On arrival, the suspect vehicle was located along with three juveniles who were taken into custody. All were transported to the Eagan Police Department where one was positively identified for participating in the burglary. He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center in Hastings, while the other two juveniles were released. I know it’s stolen, but I didn’t steal it…… On March 25th, officers located a stolen vehicle leaving a local bar/restaurant. They initiated a traffic stop and questioned the driver who was intoxicated and had an initial blood alcohol level of .137. The driver also admitted to knowing her boyfriend had stolen the car from a former girlfriend. The woman was arrested and taken into custody for DUI and possession of stolen property. She was taken to the Dakota County Jail.

Tom Wilson, Former Eagan High School Principal You can’t buy that….. On March 28th, officers responded to a local hotel regarding suspicious activity. Hotel staff called 911 to report possible prostitution activity involving one of their guests. Staff informed officers that a female guest had met with several different males for short periods of time throughout the day. Officers made contact with a male who had just left the suspect’s room. He admitted to soliciting prostitution from the woman and a criminal record’s check revealed the woman had a history of prostitution related charges. Officers made contact with the woman who was taken into custody for gross misdemeanor prostitution. Her male customer was cited for engaging in prostitution and released. You are making your mothers proud…… On March 28th, officers were called to a home on Juniper Point regarding suspicious activity. A neighbor observed two males running back and forth in front of a home and looking into the house and garage. The witness also gave a description of a vehicle that may have been related. Officers arrived and located the suspects getting into the car. An investigation revealed the juvenile males had toilet-papered the house, wrote obscenities in shaving cream on their driveway and front porch, and then defecated on the driveway. In interviewing the suspects, they stated they didn't like their classmate who lived in the house. Both were cited for disorderly conduct and released to their parents. Don’t you have something better to do…... On March 31st, officers responded to a local park regarding some juvenile males damaging park property. The witness told officers she was walking her dog in the park when she observed three juveniles at the pavilion breaking picnic bench seats and jumping up and down on the picnic tables. Officers arrived and located the suspects. All were cited for criminal damage to property and released to their parents.
