Leijpark J-6, Ringbaan Zuid. This 30-acre park was built
in an English landscape style as a job creation project prior
to World War II. The tiny De Leij stream from which the park
derives its name lends it extra allure. In the summer the
Mundial Festival takes place here. Q
Muzentuin C-4, Zwijsenplein 1. The Garden Muse is a
hidden gem where concerts and theatre events take place on
a regular basis. It was formerly the garden of the monastery
of the Order of Our Lady of Visitation. Q
Oisterwijk Outdoor Theatre (Natuurtheater
Oisterwijk) M-8, Gemullehoekenweg 147, Oisterwijk,

the summer months weekly performances take place in
this Roman-style amphitheatre. For over half a century local
culture-lovers have enjoyed the modern open-air version of
‘Bread & Circuses’. Q
Tivoli Park (Interpolistuin) E-2, Spoorlaan 298.
The Tivoli Park is located on the edge of the shopping and
entertainment district of the city centre. Its trees and ponds
make it the perfect place for a wide variety of cultural events.
The name of this green oasis comes from its sponsor, the
Interpolis insurance company, which also owns the gigantic
futuristic building next door. Q

nl. Irene Wust, a skater from the nearby village of Gloirle, won
two gold medals at the Olympic winter games in both 2006
and 2010. She’s also one of the biggest all-round skating
stars in Holland, so it comes as no surprise that the Tilburg

club hasn’t had much success recently, most people
come to this great stadium for concerts by famous Dutch

a multicultural meeting place every Sunday afternoon. Surrounded
by two parks, the Wandelbos and the Oude Warande,
Bosvreugd is located in the heart of the greenest part of

various functions since it was built in 1872, but today it’s a
modern, unusual theatre. It offers two stages, one large and
one incredibly small where you’re practically sitting in the laps
