Here is the campus brain trust and its collective mouth piece. N ational Honor Society Seated: Ronald Dahl, Mr. Reiers- gord, Alice McDonald, John John- son. Standing: Roger Kasprick, Ardis Overgaard, Estle Eiset, Alice Nord- gaarden. These debate students are discussing this year’s high school topic with Miss Kjor- lie’s advice. The question is, “Resolved: that the American people should reject the Wel- fare State.” Since this year’s topic is be- ing debated vigorously from general stores to the halls of Congress, it is a subject which interests everyone. The high point of the year is the opportunity to debate with the team from the Morris Ag. school. Each year they send their negative team to Crookston, and our negative team travels to Morris. Membership in the National Honor Society, a nationwide organization made up of students who are outstanding in school activities, is considered a great achievement. Members are chosen from the third and fourth year clas- ses on the basis of scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Good character is based on dependability, honesty, and courtesy. Members and pro- spective members of the Na- tional Honor Society demon- strate leadership and service to the school.
