HEMPEL'S WATER GLIDE 74500 is a fast drying, thin-film antifouling product containing high amount<br />

of copper and TecCel which assures a smooth surface reducing the friction for maximum speed. It is an<br />

ideal product for yachting (regatta).<br />

It is possible to launch shortly after painting.<br />

As an antifouling for power, speed and racing boats of glass fibre, wood and steel.<br />

Do not use on aluminium or light alloy metals due to risk of corrosion in case of direct contact.<br />

Not suitable for Mediterranean region.<br />

Part of European Yacht assortment. Local availability subject to confirmation.<br />

SURFACE PREPARATION: Existing thin film antifouling: Wash thoroughly with fresh water (light wet grinding if necessary). Allow<br />

the surface to dry. Apply 3 coats of the product.<br />

Existing old antifouling: Wet grinding the surface to remove loose material. Wash thorougly with fresh<br />

water. Allow the surface to dry. Apply 3 coats of the product.<br />

Old self-polishing antifouling and Glide Speed: Remove old antifouling with HEMPEL'S PAINT<br />

STRIPPER 99540/ wet grinding followed by (high pressure) fresh water pressure. Allow the surface to<br />

dry before coating. Apply 1-2 coats HEMPEL'S LIGHT PRIMER 45551 depending on condition of<br />

existing primer.Apply 3 coats of the product.<br />

Not treated surface: Remove oil and grease with suitable detergent. Wash thoroughly with fresh water.<br />

Allow the surface to dry. Apply: HEMPEL'S LIGHT PRIMER 45551. According to separate<br />

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS. Apply 3 coats of the product.<br />

APPLICATION CONDITIONS: The surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry and free from grease and oil. Apply only on a dry and<br />

clean surface with a temperature above the dew point to avoid condensation. Do not apply in direct<br />

sunlight.<br />

In confined spaces provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.<br />

PRECEDING COAT According to specification. Recommended systems are: HEMPEL'S LIGHT PRIMER 45551<br />

REMARKS: This product contains heavy particles. Stir well before use.<br />

Film thicknesses/thinning: Keep thinning to a minimum to ensure that correct film thickness is obtained.<br />

Undocking:<br />

Can be launched after minimum 2 hours drying at 23°C.<br />

After painting, the product can be left out of water for up to: 6 months. Discolouration may occur.<br />

Recoating note: Recommended number of coats: 3 coats approximately 30 micron dry film thickness<br />

Care must be taken to apply material in order to achieve the specified dry film thickness.<br />
