...You can never force people to take a new sneak<br />

way in a city. And 16 meter façade will never be<br />

more than 16 meter in spite of the fact that it is<br />

situated in the middle of the prime pedestrian<br />

shopping street. But one can transform an old<br />

cinema to the region’s best positioned site of big<br />

box shops in the back of the building and bringing<br />

out the façade in the street scene with lightning<br />

and street paving. Even though it is a tough<br />

challenge, there is not<strong>hi</strong>ng better than retail in<br />

street level. T<strong>hi</strong>s goes for customers as well as for<br />

retailers and landlords.<br />

We are a family mall they told us. But only 24%<br />

were living with c<strong>hi</strong>ldren at home. 76% were not.<br />

We are an event driven mall they said. But 50%<br />

of the costumers didn’t like events. Of course<br />

50% did. A new master plan creating room for<br />

events in a corner, not disturbing the entire mall,<br />

and a strategy talking to everybody, with or<br />

without c<strong>hi</strong>ldren.<br />
