<strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> <strong>Announces</strong> <strong>Promotions</strong> & <strong>New</strong> <strong>Hires</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Continuing Care Retirement Community<br />

March 11, 2009, Charles<strong>to</strong>n, SC – <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong>, <strong>the</strong> Sou<strong>the</strong>ast’s leading life care community, announces its<br />

exciting promotions and new hires <strong>to</strong> an already outstanding staff.<br />

In our Environmental Services Department, <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> welcomes Dianne Boone as Quality Assurance<br />

Supervisor and Audrey Wigfall as Executive Housekeeping Manager and Wes Poplin has been promoted <strong>to</strong><br />

Team Leader. In our Community Life Services Department (CLS), Jennifer Hartig has been promoted <strong>to</strong><br />

Direc<strong>to</strong>r with additional promotions including Katie Jayne <strong>to</strong> Community Life Services Coordina<strong>to</strong>r and<br />

Elizabeth Grimes <strong>to</strong> Wellness Coordina<strong>to</strong>r. The CLS Department also welcomes Wendy DeBona as Wellness<br />

Assistant.<br />

Susan Gallo has joined <strong>the</strong> <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> leadership as Human Resources Direc<strong>to</strong>r and Frank Rubino has<br />

been promoted <strong>to</strong> Executive Chef.<br />

Bill Trawick, President/CEO of <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> states, “The talent and experience that we continue <strong>to</strong> bring <strong>to</strong><br />

Dianne Boone Named Quality Assurance Supervisor<br />

Dianne Boone comes <strong>to</strong> <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> after more than 13 years in <strong>the</strong> quality assurance arena. A native of<br />

Summerville, SC, Boone was hired as <strong>the</strong> Quality Assurance Supervisor for <strong>the</strong> Environmental Services<br />

Department. Boone will be working closely with <strong>the</strong> entire Housekeeping staff in assuring <strong>the</strong> residents of<br />

<strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> are receiving <strong>the</strong> highest level of service possible.


Wesley Poplin Promoted <strong>to</strong> Team Leader<br />

Wesley Poplin, a graduate of <strong>the</strong> College of Charles<strong>to</strong>n with a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies, received his<br />

certification in Property Management from <strong>the</strong> Wyatt Institute of Real Estate. Upon such, Poplin entered <strong>the</strong><br />

US Army where he served until 2007 before coming <strong>to</strong> <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong>. In December, Poplin was promoted <strong>to</strong><br />

Team Leader of <strong>the</strong> Environmental Services Department.<br />

Audrey Wigfall Named Executive Housekeeping Manager<br />

Audrey Wigfall has significant experience in <strong>the</strong> housekeeping and healthcare industry, entering it in 1985.<br />

Wigfall owned her own cleaning company for 15 years, worked as Housekeeping Supervisor with <strong>the</strong> Naval<br />

Hospital and most recently, was with Roper St. Francis Hospital as an Environmental Supervisor. A graduate<br />

of Tennessee State University, Wigfall is experiencing <strong>the</strong> <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> way, where every day, you can make<br />

a difference.<br />

Frank Rubino Promoted <strong>to</strong> Executive Chef<br />

Frank Rubino comes <strong>to</strong> <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> with more than 30 years in <strong>the</strong> Culinary Industry. A member of <strong>the</strong><br />

American Culinary Federation, Rubino’s experience as a co-owner of a restaurant and an executive chef is a<br />

welcome addition <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> already outstanding Dining Services Department at <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong>. With a passion<br />

for decadent desserts and award winning presentations, Rubino is making friends with residents and staff<br />

alike.<br />

Wendy DeBona Named Wellness Assistant<br />

Wendy DeBona, a graduate in Health and Wellness of Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, has been in <strong>the</strong><br />

fitness industry for 32 years with a concentration on active senior populations. DeBona’s passions include


exercise, nutrition and a positive attitude <strong>to</strong> preserve ‘quality of life’ issues. Before arriving at <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong><br />

in January, DeBona was <strong>the</strong> Wellness Coordina<strong>to</strong>r at Coastal Glass Distribu<strong>to</strong>rs in Charles<strong>to</strong>n.<br />

Elizabeth Grimes Promoted <strong>to</strong> Wellness Coordina<strong>to</strong>r<br />

A certified Personal Trainer, Water Aerobics Instruc<strong>to</strong>r and Dementia Specialist, Elizabeth Grimes has been<br />

promoted <strong>to</strong> <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> Wellness Coordina<strong>to</strong>r. With a degree in Exercise Science from <strong>the</strong> University of<br />

South Carolina, Grimes began her career at <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> in 2007 as Wellness Assistant. Her ability <strong>to</strong><br />

motivate and understand <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> residents and staff lends seamlessly <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Wellness Program.<br />

Jennifer Hartig Promoted <strong>to</strong> Community Life Services Direc<strong>to</strong>r<br />

Jennifer Hartig began her career in aging services nearly 10 years ago. A native of Asheville, NC, Hartig received<br />

her bachelor’s degree from Meredith College and earned her Master’s in Health Promotion from Auburn<br />

University. In Oc<strong>to</strong>ber of 2006, Hartig accepted <strong>the</strong> Wellness Coordina<strong>to</strong>r position at <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong>—a<br />

community she’d had her eye on for many years. Hartig recently transitioned in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> role of Direc<strong>to</strong>r of<br />

Community Life Services, a position that oversees all activities, social services, wellness programs, and<br />

healthcare admissions within <strong>the</strong> <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> community.<br />

Katie Jayne Promoted <strong>to</strong> Community Life Services Coordina<strong>to</strong>r<br />

A graduate of <strong>the</strong> College of Charles<strong>to</strong>n, Katie Jayne began her career in aging services upon graduation and in<br />

2005, Jayne, joined <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> as Community Life Services Administrative Assistant. In 2007, Jayne<br />

transitioned <strong>to</strong> Resident Services Coordina<strong>to</strong>r and in December of 2008, Jayne was promoted <strong>to</strong> Community<br />

Life Services Coordina<strong>to</strong>r overseeing all activities and services for <strong>the</strong> Apartments & Cottages of <strong>Bishop</strong><br />

<strong>Gadsden</strong>.


Susan Gallo Named Human Resources Direc<strong>to</strong>r<br />

Susan Gallo comes <strong>to</strong> <strong>Bishop</strong> <strong>Gadsden</strong> as Human Resources Direc<strong>to</strong>r after more than 20 years in <strong>the</strong> industry.<br />

A graduate of <strong>the</strong> University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, Gallo is a well rounded Human Resources Leader<br />

with experience in all phases of Human Resources including Associate Engagement, Recognition,<br />

Communications, Staffing, Employee Relations and Benefit Administration. Prior <strong>to</strong> coming <strong>to</strong> <strong>Bishop</strong><br />

<strong>Gadsden</strong>, Gallo was with AstenJohnson as Human Resources Specialist, where she began her career in 1990.<br />
