Bishop Gadsden Announces Promotions & New Hires to the
Continuing Care Retirement Community
March 11, 2009, Charleston, SC – Bishop Gadsden, the Southeast’s leading life care community, announces its
exciting promotions and new hires to an already outstanding staff.
In our Environmental Services Department, Bishop Gadsden welcomes Dianne Boone as Quality Assurance
Supervisor and Audrey Wigfall as Executive Housekeeping Manager and Wes Poplin has been promoted to
Team Leader. In our Community Life Services Department (CLS), Jennifer Hartig has been promoted to
Director with additional promotions including Katie Jayne to Community Life Services Coordinator and
Elizabeth Grimes to Wellness Coordinator. The CLS Department also welcomes Wendy DeBona as Wellness
Assistant.
Susan Gallo has joined the Bishop Gadsden leadership as Human Resources Director and Frank Rubino has
been promoted to Executive Chef.
Bill Trawick, President/CEO of Bishop Gadsden states, “The talent and experience that we continue to bring to

Dianne Boone Named Quality Assurance Supervisor
Dianne Boone comes to Bishop Gadsden after more than 13 years in the quality assurance arena. A native of
Summerville, SC, Boone was hired as the Quality Assurance Supervisor for the Environmental Services
Department. Boone will be working closely with the entire Housekeeping staff in assuring the residents of
Bishop Gadsden are receiving the highest level of service possible.

Wesley Poplin Promoted to Team Leader
Wesley Poplin, a graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies, received his
certification in Property Management from the Wyatt Institute of Real Estate. Upon such, Poplin entered the
US Army where he served until 2007 before coming to Bishop Gadsden. In December, Poplin was promoted to
Team Leader of the Environmental Services Department.
Audrey Wigfall Named Executive Housekeeping Manager
Audrey Wigfall has significant experience in the housekeeping and healthcare industry, entering it in 1985.
Wigfall owned her own cleaning company for 15 years, worked as Housekeeping Supervisor with the Naval
Hospital and most recently, was with Roper St. Francis Hospital as an Environmental Supervisor. A graduate
of Tennessee State University, Wigfall is experiencing the Bishop Gadsden way, where every day, you can make
a difference.
Frank Rubino Promoted to Executive Chef
Frank Rubino comes to Bishop Gadsden with more than 30 years in the Culinary Industry. A member of the
American Culinary Federation, Rubino’s experience as a co-owner of a restaurant and an executive chef is a
welcome addition to the already outstanding Dining Services Department at Bishop Gadsden. With a passion
for decadent desserts and award winning presentations, Rubino is making friends with residents and staff
alike.
Wendy DeBona Named Wellness Assistant
Wendy DeBona, a graduate in Health and Wellness of Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, has been in the
fitness industry for 32 years with a concentration on active senior populations. DeBona’s passions include

exercise, nutrition and a positive attitude to preserve ‘quality of life’ issues. Before arriving at Bishop Gadsden
in January, DeBona was the Wellness Coordinator at Coastal Glass Distributors in Charleston.
Elizabeth Grimes Promoted to Wellness Coordinator
A certified Personal Trainer, Water Aerobics Instructor and Dementia Specialist, Elizabeth Grimes has been
promoted to Bishop Gadsden Wellness Coordinator. With a degree in Exercise Science from the University of
South Carolina, Grimes began her career at Bishop Gadsden in 2007 as Wellness Assistant. Her ability to
motivate and understand Bishop Gadsden residents and staff lends seamlessly to the Wellness Program.
Jennifer Hartig Promoted to Community Life Services Director
Jennifer Hartig began her career in aging services nearly 10 years ago. A native of Asheville, NC, Hartig received
her bachelor’s degree from Meredith College and earned her Master’s in Health Promotion from Auburn
University. In October of 2006, Hartig accepted the Wellness Coordinator position at Bishop Gadsden—a
community she’d had her eye on for many years. Hartig recently transitioned into the role of Director of
Community Life Services, a position that oversees all activities, social services, wellness programs, and
healthcare admissions within the Bishop Gadsden community.
Katie Jayne Promoted to Community Life Services Coordinator
A graduate of the College of Charleston, Katie Jayne began her career in aging services upon graduation and in
2005, Jayne, joined Bishop Gadsden as Community Life Services Administrative Assistant. In 2007, Jayne
transitioned to Resident Services Coordinator and in December of 2008, Jayne was promoted to Community
Life Services Coordinator overseeing all activities and services for the Apartments & Cottages of Bishop
Gadsden.

Susan Gallo Named Human Resources Director
Susan Gallo comes to Bishop Gadsden as Human Resources Director after more than 20 years in the industry.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, Gallo is a well rounded Human Resources Leader
with experience in all phases of Human Resources including Associate Engagement, Recognition,
Communications, Staffing, Employee Relations and Benefit Administration. Prior to coming to Bishop
Gadsden, Gallo was with AstenJohnson as Human Resources Specialist, where she began her career in 1990.
