Drama
It is always pleasing to
hear of Highcliffe Students
who show initiative,
both within and
outside school. Here is a
report from Ebony Day
(Tutor Group 9.1).
“Last Year I
started an outside
Drama Group
called ‘Youngstar’.
I have also recently
been to an
audition with an
agency. A couple
of weeks later I
had a letter offering
to have me in the
agency. I hope this will
help me to succeed in a
career in acting.”
Cross Country
On the 30th November I
ran in the Cross-Country
Championship Event at
Kings’ Park in Bournemouth.
I was in the
Junior Girls category,
running a 3350m course
against runners from all
over the district. It was
a very long and tiring
course but I managed to
come 8 th out of 70 runners.
This means that I
will be competing, representing
Bournemouth,
in the next round at
Kingston Maurward
where I will be joined by
Alice Curtin who also ran
very well. I would like
to thank the PE staff for
all their help, advice and
...high, higher, Highcliffe
support.

Dancing
I have been dancing since
the age of 5. I have lessons
weekly at the Wessex
Association of Dancing
where I have studied
Tap, Ballet, Jazz and
modern Theatre styles.
An annual show (see
photo) is put on in November
at the Pavilion
Theatre in Bournemouth.
Other shows take place in
smaller venues in March
each year. Recently our
dance school was lucky
enough to be recorded
during our Tap lesson
for a report on ‘Meridian
Tonight’. It will be the
first to air as part of a
series on different dance
styles starting
this month. I
really enjoy
dancing as it
is a great way
to keep fit,
have fun and
socialise with
different people.

Art Competition
Sofia Constantinou
(Tutor Group 9.3)
entered a Peace Poster
competition last
July. She won the competition
for the Christchurch
area and went
