Year 9 students are hoping
that the local bird population
will show their appreciation
by moving into the
nest boxes they made during
Activities Week.
On Valentine’s Day, the
Spring is in the Air
Shoebox Appeal

Nest Box
Week, ten
boxes were
sited throughout
the school
grounds.
Nest boxes are
vital for conservationbecause
in many
places there
are simply not
enough natural habitats. It
is hoped that the boxes
will help improve the
school environment and
ensure suitable breeding
sites for years to come.

Each year the response to the shoebox appeal gets
better and better. This year 410 shoeboxes were collected.
Here is a photo of the lorry being loaded,
which you might like to see.

this year!

Ex-students Sign for
EMI
Mr Trevorrow has just received
some excellent
news about 3 former students.
Here is the information
as he received it.
‘You may be aware that 3
members of the group ‘Air
Traffic’ were students at
Highcliffe School (David
Jordan, James Maddocks
and Tom Pritchard). They
were signed by EMI records
in May 2006 and are
hotly tipped to be one of
the big bands of the future.
Their single is out on
Monday 26th March and
they will be playing live in
HMV, Bournemouth on Friday
30th March at 5pm as
well as signing CDs and
posters. They will also be
performing at The Old
Firestation in Bournemouth
on 25 March.
Swimming Progess
Here is the text of a letter
just in, which updates us
on the progress of Martin
Littlefair who we featured
in the ‘high, higer…’ section
of a previous issue.
‘Dear Ms Potts,
Just thought you would
like to know how Martin is
getting on. Despite being
the youngest in his age
group Martin won 5 Gold
medals at Dorset County
and has now recorded 10
‘Western’ times. Hopefully
by June he will have
achieved more than 1
‘National’ time.’
Well done to Martin from
