4 betty ford LegaCy fund Changing Lives – One wOman at a time One of Mrs. Ford’s priorities at Betty Ford Center was to meet the unique needs of women undergoing treatment for addiction to alcohol and other drugs. Because of her beliefs, treatment at the Center is genderspecific, to address the separate issues that face women. To honor Mrs. Ford’s vision, dedication and ongoing efforts, the Betty Ford Legacy Fund was established in January 2005. This permanent and endowed fund generates interest and investment income to provide a perpetual source of financial assistance for women seeking treatment at the Center. 40% of all alcoholics and addicts are women, yet women only account for 25% of all people treated for chemical dependency! donation oPPortunities All scholarship opportunities listed on the Financial Assistance Fund page are needed specifically for women.
