FUND RAISING<br />
22. We declare, in accordance with Providence 388, that the International Dominican<br />
Foundation (IDF) was formed in February 2002, as a 501 (c) (3)<br />
tax-exempt charitable organization in the United States.<br />
23. We declare that a professional fund raising firm (Community Counselling<br />
Services) was engaged to assist in the initial stages of the fund raising campaign.<br />
This involved an initial investment, which is to be repaid to the Order<br />
by IDF.<br />
24. In the light of Providence 391, the Syndic of the Order, Fr Edmund Nantes<br />
O.P., presented a report on the IDF, which was reviewed and evaluated.<br />
25. In the light of Providence 372 the Syndic of the Order, Fr Edmund Nantes<br />
O.P., also presented accounts for IDF for the years June 02 - May 03 and<br />
June 03 – May 04. These accounts have been approved.<br />
26. We approve the direction that IDF is taking in the United States and we encourage<br />
its development in the other regions of the world.<br />
26. We exhort the entities of the Order to help the I DF in identifying donors for<br />
the Fund.<br />
27. We acknowledge and compliment the work being done on behalf of the fund<br />
by Fr Val McInnes O.P. and all those involved in the IDF.<br />
28. We confirm the establishment of the Fray Francisco de Vitoria Justice Fund<br />
to support and sustain the presence and the work of the Order at the United<br />
Nations.<br />
COSTS<br />
The cost of the General Chapter is to be shared equitably i.e. reflecting the portion<br />
in which each entity contributes annually to the ordinary budget of the Order. We<br />
divide the transportation costs equally and share the administrative costs portionately.<br />
Each capitular pays his actual per diem costs.<br />
THANKS<br />
29. The Chapter thanks all the provinces, vice-provinces, general vicariates,<br />
monasteries, convents and communities of <strong>fr</strong>iars, nuns, sisters and laity for<br />
the taxes and gifts, especially those who have generously responded to the<br />
growing needs and the financial demands on the Master of the Order, and<br />
other entities within the Order.<br />
