VII. SUMMARY
This research was carried out at the Technical University of Babahoyo, The area has
a humid tropical climate with an average annual temperature of 25.6 º, an annual
rainfall of 2329.8mm. In the experimental plot has flat topography, sandy clay loam
and regular drainage. Hybrid INIAP was used 601 experimental design was used
"completely randomized blocks" with thirteen treatments and four replications was
used multiple range test of Tukey at 95% probability.
The treatments were investigated insecticides Imidacloprid 25cc/ha + sand + sand
50cc/ha Imidacloprid, Imdacloprid 100cc/ha + sand + water 100cc/ha Imidacloprid,
Abamectin 25cc/ha + sand + sand 50cc/ha Abamectin, Abamectin 100cc/ha + sand,
100cc Abamectin / ha + water + sand 25cc/ha Amulet, Amulet 50cc/ha + sand +
sand 100cc/ha Amulet, Amulet 100cc/ha + water and just sand. Larval populations
were assessed for S. frugiperda, percentage of damage in the head and ears, and
yield kg / ha.
The results demonstrate that:
At 24 hours after application, Abamectin 25cc/ha + sand showed the best control
with 12.25% damage, at 8 days. At 8 days, the best control was observed in the
treatment Amulet 100cc/ha + sand (10.50% sand). At 15 days after applying the
best control was observed with Amulet 25cc/ha + sand (15.00% sand). At 22 days
after the application had the best control with Abamectin 100CC/HA + water
(35.00% damage). In evaluations after the applications for 24 hours after application
100cc/ha + Amulet treatment had a higher water on larvae control being only 0.08
larvae / plant. At 8 and 15 days after treatment application Imidacloprid 100 cc / ha
+ Imidacloprid 50cc/ha + sand and sand respectively gave the best control, since it is
found only 0.08 and 0.18 larvae / plant, respectively. The lower percentage of ears
attacked by Spodoptera frugiperda treatments was observed in sand + Imidacloprid
