POLICIA DE INVESTIGACIONES DE CHILE<br />

El objetivo princip<strong>al</strong> <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> presente investigación es <strong>de</strong>terminar si <strong>la</strong> con<strong>de</strong>na y <strong>la</strong> edad <strong>de</strong> los sujetos en estudio<br />

inci<strong>de</strong>n, conjuntamente, en los <strong>niveles</strong> <strong>de</strong> optimismo e <strong>impulsividad</strong> <strong>de</strong> éstos. La muestra estuvo conformada por 127<br />

sujetos que cumplen con<strong>de</strong>na efectiva, <strong>de</strong> sexo masculino, que fueron divididos en 2 grupos: primerizos (es <strong>de</strong>cir,<br />

primera con<strong>de</strong>na leg<strong>al</strong> efectiva) y reinci<strong>de</strong>ntes (personas con más <strong>de</strong> una con<strong>de</strong>na leg<strong>al</strong> efectiva). Los instrumentos<br />

utilizados fueron <strong>la</strong> esca<strong>la</strong> <strong>impulsividad</strong> <strong>de</strong> Barrat (BIS -11) y el Test <strong>de</strong> Orientación para <strong>la</strong> vida en su versión<br />

revisada (LOT-R). Se concluye que se aprueba parci<strong>al</strong>mente una <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong>s hipótesis <strong>de</strong>l presente estudio, a enten<strong>de</strong>r, los<br />

sujetos reinci<strong>de</strong>ntes (más <strong>de</strong> una con<strong>de</strong>na en distintos pen<strong>al</strong>es)son más impulsivos en acción (subesca<strong>la</strong> motora) que<br />

los primerizos (reos sin <strong>de</strong>tención ni con<strong>de</strong>nas previas); en cuanto a <strong>la</strong>s otras dos subesca<strong>la</strong>s <strong>de</strong>l BIS 11 (imprevisión<br />

y cognitiva) los resultados muestran que no hay diferencias estadísticamente significativas. En re<strong>la</strong>ción <strong>al</strong><br />

optimismo, no se apreciaron diferencias significativas entre los grupos, ubicándose <strong>la</strong> muestra en un nivel promedio<br />

<strong>de</strong> optimismo disposicion<strong>al</strong>.<br />

Abstract.<br />

The main objective of this research is to <strong>de</strong>termine whether the conviction and the age of the subjects un<strong>de</strong>r study<br />

affect jointly in levels of optimism and impulsiveness of these. The sample consisted of 127 individu<strong>al</strong>s serving<br />

sentences effectively, m<strong>al</strong>es were divi<strong>de</strong>d into 2 groups: first-(effective leg<strong>al</strong> first conviction) and recidivists (those<br />

with more effective leg<strong>al</strong> con<strong>de</strong>mnation). The instruments used were the Barratt Impulsiveness Sc<strong>al</strong>e (BIS -11) and<br />

the Test of Life Orientation as revised (LOT-R). We conclu<strong>de</strong> that parti<strong>al</strong>ly adopted one of the hypotheses of this<br />

study, un<strong>de</strong>rstand, repeat subjects (more than a sentence in different prisons) are more impulsive in action (motor<br />

subsc<strong>al</strong>e) that the first-(<strong>de</strong>fendants without prior convictions or arrest); in the other two subsc<strong>al</strong>es of BIS 11<br />

(foresight and cognitive) results show no statistic<strong>al</strong>ly significant differences. In re<strong>la</strong>tion to optimism, no significant<br />

differences between groups, p<strong>la</strong>cing the sample at an average level of disposition<strong>al</strong> optimism.<br />
