descentralizado smirro.
many long years of experience in the construction
the management team of Smirro GmbH.
klemens jakob (Managing Director Solarthermie)
The creative head and inventor engaged himself intensively
with the production of heat energy from the sun
ever since the 1990‘s. One of the first major development
projects, a parabolic trough collector with collapsible
mirror components to protect against wind and
sand, gathered considerable attention at its premier at
the Hannover Trade Fair of 2001.
As far back as 2003, Klemens Jakob began, in association
with other colleagues, to develop a parabolic trough
collector in innovative aerofoil technology. The collector,
in a format of 12 x 6 meters, was planned for use
in solar power plants such as Andasol in Spain. From
this earlier development, the decentralized smirro
parabolic trough collector of today came into existence.
