objetivo capacitar a nuevos realizadores provenientes
We would like to express our appreciation to Leopold Roth,
Andrew Roth, Guillermo Monteforte and Byrt Wammack
for supporting this program
For the sixth consecutive year, the Morelia International
Film Festival presents the First Nations Forum. This is the
second year that the forum has been sponsored by ArcelorMittal,
the world’s leading steel and mining company,
which has a presence in 174 countries, including Mexico,
where its main production facility is located in Lázaro
Cárdenas, Michoacán.
For ArcelorMittal, a socially responsible company, this forum
is very important because it provides Mexico’s indigenous
peoples with a platform from which they can discuss issues
that affect their lives. This year the Morelia Film Festival
has invited two curators, both of whom have developed a
very complete program: Carolina Coppel with Ambulante
Más Allá, a theoretical-practical school dedicated to the
production of documentary videos whose objective is to
train new filmmakers from different parts of Latin America;
and Adrián González Camargo, filmmaker, screenwriter
and promoter of numerous spaces built to disseminate the
different stories that reflect and record the reality of the
indigenous communities.
