The Van se estrenó en la sección oficial del Festival de
Cannes. También produjo When Brendan Met Trudy, escrita
por Roddy Doyle, y coprodujo Killing Me Softly, de
Chen Kaige. En 2004, entró a la National Film and Television
School como Jefa de Dirección de Ficción. Actualmente,
es productora independiente y, junto con Jason
Newmark, coproduce un remake de Defence of the Realm
para la BBC, Studio Canal y el BFI.
Lynda Myles After eight years as Director of the Edinburgh
International Film Festival, she spent two years as
Director and Curator of Film at the Pacific Film Archive,
University of California, Berkeley. On returning to the UK,
she produced her first feature, Defence of The Realm, for
Enigma Films. She then joined Columbia Pictures as a Senior
Vice-President, after which she spent two years as
Commissioning Editor for Drama at the BBC. In 1990, she
co-produced The Commitments, directed by Alan Parker,
which won the BAFTA for Best Film in 1991, plus 4 other
BAFTA Awards and an Oscar® Nomination for Editing. In
1992, she returned to independent production, producing
The Snapper (winner of, among other things, the Goya
Award and the Prix Italia) and The Van, both directed by
Stephen Frears. The Van had its world premiere in competition
at the Cannes Film Festival. She also produced When
Brendan Met Trudy, written by Roddy Doyle and co-produced
Killing Me Softly, directed by Chen Kaige. In 2004,
she joined the National Film and Television School as Head
of Fiction Directing. She continues to work as an independent
producer and is currently co-producing a remake of
Defence of The Realm with Jason Newmark for BBC Films,
Studio Canal and the BFI.
