‘’BEDA programme’’ (Bilingual English Development and Assessment) is a project based on
learning English purposes. It’s directed by Catholic Schools in Madrid.
Our school has been the first one in Badajoz that has implemented this project.
Apart from teaching some subjects in English as part of the curriculum, in the future, the
programme endows the school with different improvements.
Catholic schools are associated with the University of Cambridge in this project. So, the
school has also become an examination centre in Badajoz.
Last June was the first time when Cambridge exams were held. There were more than 115
students and they got a spectacular result. The 90 per cent of them passed the exam.
Pupils from the 3rd grade in Primary Education have a very good level of English in speaking
and listening skills.
Finally, we have to point out that another aim in that project is teaching English to the
teachers and the administrative staff.
Furthermore, there are also students in universities of England, thanks to the support the
school has given to the subject of English.
