2013PROVINCIADE FILIPINASBoletín Informativo39The Parish community of Dar Es Salaam was busywith the pastoral activities as usual in the oldparishes of Temboni and Mavurunza and that ofTagaste. With the birth of Tagaste, some hadincreased the weight of their activities since theirnumber was cut for the newborn parish. The Parish ofMavurunza with the outstation of St Rita, andMavurunza itself went on with the construction ofthe Youth Centre and the Shrine of St. Rita. Theveneration of St Rita has occupied an important placein the parish of Mavurunza especially with thefamous Novena of St Rita.The Parish of Temboni went on with her pastoralactivities in its outstations of Msingwa, Nzasa andTemboni itself. After consolidating the smallChristian communities the pastoral activities havebeen directed in the strengthening of the faith ofthe Christians so as they may see the differencesbetween the big religions so that they may not jointhem unknowingly. The parish continues with theconstructions of the residence for the priests, whichhas advanced sufficiently.The Parish of Tagaste with its newness is preparingitself for establishing the different offices for thepastoral agents and the residence for the priests.They are also planning to install benches as soon aspossible. Tagaste has only one outstation of Matosaand in the future they expect to extend towardsneighbouring areas with Mbezi Beach parish.Edificios de las clases del nuevo Colegio San Agustín enTagaste (Dar Es Salaam)There was also the Holy Cross of the Year of Faithfor the Archdiocese of Dar Es Salaam, which wasblessed on January 12, 2013 at Pugu Parish in theEucharistic celebration presided by His EminencyPolycarp Cardinal Pengo, the Archbishop of Dar EsSalaam. There were several Holy Crosses depending onthe Deaneries. In the Deanery of St. Monica Kibaha,which comprises of the parishes of Mavurunza,Temboni, Tagaste, Mbezi Peter Claver, Mbezi Theresiaof Child Jesus, Kibamba, Kiluvya, Kibaha, Mkuza,Makabe, and Mlandizi, the Cross began to circulate inthe Parish of Mavurunza, then Tagaste and Temboni.The aim of this cross is to awaken the faith for thosewho have been in a slumber of faith and to increaseand strengthen the faith of those who are activelyliving their Christian faith.The community of Mwanza, which is a formationand parish community, went on with its pastoral andnovitiate formation activities. For the moment thereare six novices: four from the Delegation of Tanzaniaand two from the delegation of Kenya. They nowhave their own life independently from the legalcommunity in their newly added building. Generallytheir rhythm is a healthy one, daily class as usualand some work in their farm at the land ofBuhongwa and in their garden near the novitiatehouse. Cultural challenges and different mentalitiescannot be avoided in such situation but withwisdom and love such challenges have beensurpassed. The pastoral activities were carried outin the outstations of Buhongwa, Sahwa, Rwanima,Bulale, Tagaste and Mkolani itself. At Mkolani theyhave been busy building the fence for securityreasons especially these times whereby a kind ofintolerance among the Muslims has caused a lot oftroubles among the Tanzanians because somethreats and attack on installations belonging to theChristians and attacking and sometimes killing someof their ministers has been seen with religiousintolerance. Thanks be to God after various reactionsfrom different groups the government is nowconcentrating on those problems seriously.The faithful of Sahwa which had been financed byIQUITANZ to establish a dignified place for prayerare now busy trying to complete their churchbuilding, which needs doors, windows, wall and floorfurnishing and painting.Finally we pray that God may protect our Order andall its members so that all may be good witnesses ofthe Gospel Christ by living it in faith, hope and love.Fr.
