El mundo cambia por completo al caer la noche, pues se libera de su usual indiferencia y se viste con el halo místico de las cosas que se adoran en silencio. (...) De noche, todos los sueños renacen.

How was the treatment with the actors?
It was relatively easy in this case. I’m into natural
actors’ school, actors you can apply the Stanislavsky
method to them, the emotional memory and
all. It turns out that the artistic creation grant in
Santander is a scholarship that gives you only two
months at most for shooting your short, including
edition, pre and post production, everything; then
you have to quicken the pace and of course it is
very hard to dedicate one month to prepare actors
to arrange this plot with characters depending
on what the director wants, so I decided I would
do different in Yuccas than in Oranges, where my
mom was the main actress; we came from natural
actors and went on to a professional actor as
master Antonio Aparicio, who was the one who
helped us in Yuccas. But it was because of this
hurry, we needed to shoot. So we contacted him.
He acted in films such as Visa USA, La
Estrategia del Caracol and Cóndores no entierran
todos los días. We brought this guy, we tried to
adapt him because he nevertheless comes from
a school of theater, and what we do in movies
is a little more independent, more auteur
cinema, then the work was a little softer, I’m
not saying it was very relaxed and certainly
easy to handle, but it was not so complicated.
So this was the treatment I did with my actor.
