folks at Morton’s Orchards load<br />
up 30,000 pounds of the fleshy<br />
fruit and truck them clear across<br />
the state to the Lafayette Peach<br />
Festival. There, town residents<br />
devour the fruit in every way<br />
imaginable: Think 500 fresh<br />
peach pies, 4,500 servings of<br />
peach cobbler, and 2,500 servings<br />
of peach smoothies—all while<br />
supplies last anyway. (Or just grab<br />
one off the four peach trucks scattered<br />
