Carta del Comodoro
Diego Peralta Ramos
Comodoro
querido Comodoro Juan V. Tedin algunas horas después
incansable empuje y enorme optimismo, hubiese querido
Last year started with an announcement
that sourly affected us: on December
27, our loved Commodore Juan V. Tedin
left us some hours after having led,
with his natural kindheartedness, the end of
year barbecue with the staff of the Argentine
Yacht Club.
But as we are sure that Juan, with his tireless
drive and enormous optimism, would have
wanted to continue with the work the Executive
Committee was performing, is that we face this
2018 with energy, because we believe that it is
the best way to pay him homage and remember
him as what he always was: an entrepreneur and
a permanent factor of change.
And this copy you hold in your hands is a sign
of this. The Yacht magazine, that has been
published for 29 years, has now a more modern
and elegant format; and, what is more, has
changed to a biannual regularity, since we are
sure it is a good way to reflect in its pages the
intense activity of the Club and of our fellow
members in the different spheres.
In addition, in this first half of the year, the Club
has had a high number of activities in each of
its areas. For instance, in March we received
the unofficial visit of the King Harald V of
Norway in his way through our country; some
days later, the seven boats that participated in
the Latin American Sails 2018 arrived, among
which was our Liberty Frigate and the Gloria
ship, from Colombia, which we received with a
salute and a procession led by the ambassador
of this country.
As regards the art of navigation, the sailboat
Cippino of our fellow member Daniel Sielecki
and manned by several members of the YCA, is
performing again the classic sailboats circuit in
Europe and it already won Les Voiles d’Antibes,
