MEET OUR MEMBERS María Javiera Miranda REGIONAL MANAGER LATAM jmiranda@arraytechinc.com Javiera is Chilean, single and an Industrial Civil Engineer from the Universidad de Chile. She is currently in charge of the South American Region for Array. What products or services does your company deliver and to what kind(s) of NCREs? Array Technologies provides reliable solar trackers, with a track record of over 8 GW of utility and commercial scale projects around the world. We have focused exclusively on the design and manufacture of solar tracking systems. This specialization has helped us to achieve the best return on investment and the lowest leveled cost of energy (LCOE) of the industry for our clients. Which have been the latest new services or changes introduced by your Company? During the last year, we launched a disconnectable driveline which allows those who choose this solution to move freely between the rows without losing reliability. We have also recently launched a report detailing the impact of the trackers’ architecture in LATAM (HERE). What are the main projects -or themes- you have been recently working on concerning NCRE or the environment? In case they are generation plants, where are the located and which are their main characteristics? We sold over 180 MW in South America during the last year. In Chile, the Ovejería plant of 10 MW (Metropolitan Region), owned by Colbún and built by Orion Power, was connected this year, in addition to other 30 MW in several other PMGDs which are commissioned, in construction or in the delivery process. Which elements characterize and/or distinguish your company? Array’s single axis tracker, Duratrack HZ v3, offers a flexibly linked architecture, perfectly fit for the Chilean geography and climate. Its robust reliability has been time proven and is free of risks, even during severe weather events. How important is NCRE participation in the Chilean electric system? There is a global effort nowadays for replacing fossil energies with renewable energies and it is our obligation with the future generations to hand them a sustainable planet. Chile, with its huge NCRE potential, should be one of the first countries with a 100% renewable matrix. Why would you recommend being an ACERA member? We are proud of combining efforts with ACERA to promote the growth of renewable energies in the Chilean market. As a member of the Association, Array is contributing to the development of a regulatory framework that will allow NCREs to compete on equal terms, along the supply channel, with conventional sources. Daniel Lacambra BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER daniel.lacambra@ul.com Daniel is Spanish, married and a physicist by training. He is currently working as the Business Development Manager of UL Renovables. What products or services does your company deliver and to what kind(s) of NCREs? UL Renovables provides independent consulting services and certification for wind and photovoltaic projects. Which have been the latest new services or changes introduced by your Company? In UL we are expanding our team in Latin America, as well as our solutions. Our most recent development is a tool that allows clients to monitor their Assets. We are also developing solutions for hybrid projects. What are the main projects -or themes- you have been recently working on concerning NCRE or the environment? In case they are generation plants, where are the located and which are their main characteristics? As a service consulting firm, we cannot give many details, but we are working on wind and solar projects along the different regions of Chile. Which elements characterize and/or distinguish your company? I am convinced that the most outstanding features of our organization are our experience, independence and customer commitment. How important is NCRE participation in the Chilean electric system? Chile has a great NCRE potential from various and different sources, which could allow a majority share over the time thus contributing decisively to the fight against climate change. Why would you recommend being an ACERA member? I recommend ACERA for the visibility it can give to the companies, and for the networking opportunities that it provides. I would also like to highlight the great number of events they promote.
