REGIONAL SEMINAR ON RENEWABLE ENERGIES WAS HELD WITH GREAT
SUCCESS IN ANTOFAGASTA.
Antofagasta Region was the new destination of the “REGIONAL NCRE SEMINAR” carried out by
Asociación Chilena de Energías Renovables y Almacenamiento, ACERA AG. The first presentation
was made by the Association’s Executive Director, Carlos Finat, who pointed out the enormous
convening power of the activity. “The Seminar has been most satisfying for us. We had a great
attendance and the chance to listen to many opinions and to receive feedback from the attendees.
We have also been able to explain concepts ¡ÉSTA related ES with LA PRIMERA energy, climate PLANTA change and the potential
development they can have in Chile and their GEOTÉRMICA region”, he commented. DE SUDAMÉRICA!
Another participant, the Energy Seremi, Aldo Erazo, emphasized the importance of these
activities in the region. “The idea of this activity organized by ACERA is that different authorities
become more and more aware of what is happening in the energy area, get to know how the
projects function and how their region develops thanks to them. It is important that the
communities get to know more about these topics and thus become more participative”, he stated.
The event was funded by ACERA’s member company Mainstream Renewable Power and
sponsored by the Ministry of Energy and, in Antofagasta, had the collaboration of the Centro de
Desarrollo Energético Antofagasta (CDEA). It also included a presentation of the Executive
Director of the Corfo’s Solar Committee, Rodrigo Mancilla, and ended with a micro-workshop
of associativity and shared value, conducted by Francisco Merino, representative of the Social
Participation and Dialogue Division of the Ministry of Energy.
The activity, aimed at presenting the characteristics and benefits of Renewable Energies, was a
complete success with a high number of attendees (around 70), among which we can highlight the
Mayors of Tocopilla and Mejillones, in addition to several Town Councillors, Cores, the Incumbent
Minister of the First Environmental Court, the Regional Director of the SEC, and representatives of
