THE MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND ACERA ORGANIZED A BREAKFAST
ON ASSOCIATIVE INVESTMENT ADDRESSED TO THE BANKING SECTOR
The Social Participation and Dialogue Division of the Ministry of Energy, together with
ACERA, organized an informative breakfast addressed to the representatives of the
banking sector at the premises of Carey. The event’s goal was to present “The new
models of associative investment within the framework of the 2018-2022 Energy
Roadmap: Community Power Generation”, with the purpose of disclosing this new
initiative that proposes a paradigm shift in associativity presenting it as an ownership
process instead of just a participation one.
The presentation was made by the Undersecretary of Energy, Ricardo Irarrázabal, who
analyzed the potentialities and challenges of the new community generation models:
“With this kind of public policy, we want not only to promote certainties and the feasibility
of the projects, but also create a tool for poverty eradication by promoting local
development. As a ministry, we wish to accompany communities and private companies in
creating opportunities”, he explained.
The activity was attended by over 20 people, including representatives from the IDB,
Banco Estado, Banco de Chile, Banco Security, and Banco Santander, just to mention a
few, in addition to important executives from law firms related to the subject and
investment companies, who provided interesting information to keep on improving and
progressing in this significant project for the sector and the country.
