Two important things: First, have
more kids. There is nothing that will
bring you more joy and fulfillment
than your children. Children are the
light of your life, they are God’s
blessing to you.
Second, don’t do everything for
your kids. Your kids will never be
able to take initiative and be
self-starters if you’re out front
mowing down every obstacle.
You are not doing them any
favors. If you love your children
and want them to succeed, let
them solve their own problems,
communicate with their teachers, make their own plans and
carry them out without you doing it for them.
The advice we would give to a
newly married couple is to make
Jesus Christ the center of your
relationship. From that, the Holy
Spirit will give you the grace to
love well and forgive often.
As a couple, find ways to serve
and minster to others. Never stop
holding hands and keep lots of
laughter in your relationship.
Mike is a dentist in Jackson
and Ginger is a housewife.
The Chinchens are African missionaries and founders of the
African Bible Colleges in Malawi, Liberia, and Uganda.
