Maurizio Toffoletti
Qui est-il ?
Né « sculpteur » à Lecce en 6 ,
de formation classique, Maurizio
Toffoletti prend pour référence l’art
égyptien et Michelangelo. Ses pères
spirituels sont Brancusi, Moore, Arp,
Max Bill, Calder.
Toffoletti a la vocation du marbre
jusqu’à en exalter toutes les
sensations.
A présent,
ses œuvres ont pris place dans les
collections privées et publiques
en Europe, aux Etats-Unis, au Japon,
Taiwan…
Maurizio toffoletti
Chi è?
Nato “scultore” a Lecce nel 6 ,
di formazione classica. Maurizio
Toffoletti prende come riferimento
l’arte egiziana e Michelangelo.
I suoi padri spirituali sono Brancusi,
Moore, Arp, Max Bill, Calder.
Toffoletti ha la vocazione artistica
del marmo fino ad esaltarne tutte
le sensazioni. Da ciò, la sua ricerca
della luce e della sonorità.
Le sculture tagliate dai blocchi di
marmo, direttamente con l’aiuto
delle attrezzature recenti (dischi
abrasivi, lame diamantate, martelli
pneumatici), rivelanti allo spettatore
la precisione e la forza d’esecuzione
e mettendo in evidenza la procedura
decisa ed originale dell’artista.
Nella scultura contemporanea
non esistono più concetti di parte
anteriore e posteriore. In effetti,
in riferimento all’opera vista da
prospettive diverse, emerge ogni
volta una scultura nuova.
All’inizio, le mie sculture erano
lucidate all’eccesso. Il fatto di
avere questa superficie così bella e
perfetta mi ha impedito di vedere la
forza della materia. Ecco perché ho
cominciato a lasciare emergere un
aspetto brutto e più naturale.
Dopo l’anno , trasferitosi a
Parigi, Toffoletti divide il suo tempo,
tra la capitale e Carrara.
Egli partecipa attivamente alla
vita culturale parigina ed espone
nelle gallerie (Denise Rene’, Enrico
Navarra …..), fin dalle biennali, egli
espone le sue sculture monumentali
sulle piazze famose di Parigi,
St.Germain des Près, Odeon, Jardin
du Luxembourg. Nel 005 il successo
e la notorietà con l’esposizione
“Gouttes de Lumière”, Place Vendôme
a Parigi.
Oggi, le sue opere fanno parte delle
collezioni private e pubbliche in
Europa, negli Stati Uniti, in Giappone,
Taiwan…..
Who is Toffoletti?
Born “sculpteur” (sculptor) in Lecce
in 6 , and coming from classical
studies, Maurizio Toffoletti is inspired
by the Egyptian art and Michelangelo.
His spiritual guides are Brancusi,
Moore, Arp, Max Bill and Calder.
Toffoletti has a so great vocation for
marble that he is able to exalt all its
sensations.
From that, his research for light and
sound.
His monumental sculptures which
are manually cutted in the marble
trough modern tools such as diamond
scissors, percussion hammer, etc…
show to the watchers the precision
and strength of the execution
and point out the original and
spontaneous action of the artist.
“In the modern sculpture there
aren’t fronts and backs any more.
Actually watching the work from
different angles it’s always
possible to see new sculptures. At
the beginning my sculpture were
excessively smooth, but watching a
so beautiful and perfect surface
made me ignore the force of the
matter. This is the reason why I
started to give a more row and
natural aspect.”
In Paris since , Toffoletti
continues to share his time between
the French capital and Carrara. He
actively takes part to the cultural
life of Paris and exhibits his works
at very important Biennal Exhibitions
(Denise Renè, Enrico Navarra, …). He
always placed his sculptures in the
most glamorous squares of Paris
such as St-Germain des Prés, Odéon,
Jardin du Luxemburg, but in 005
it was the success and recognition
with the exhibition “Gouttes de
Lumière” (“Drops of Light”) in Place
Vendôme in Paris.
At present his works of art are part
of the most prestigious private and
public collections in Europe, Japan,
Taiwan and in the Unites States of
America.
