NERVE BLOCKS<br />
Nerve blocks provide anesthesia to individual or<br />
small bundles of nerves. They can provide<br />
effective pain relief to a specific area of your<br />
body for example arm or leg.<br />
Nerve blocks can be administered by two ways :<br />
A single injection of medications at the site of the pain<br />
– where the operation or surgery is done.<br />
A continuous or repeated injection of medications<br />
using a catheter inserted into the area that requires<br />
anesthesia.<br />
Before the block is done, the doctor may use a nerve<br />
stimulator to locate the right nerve to be blocked.
