Information for Installation
Your extraction hood can be used in circulating air or extraction mode.
Circulating air mode
In circulating air mode, the kitchen vapours are sucked in and, after puriication,
discharged to the room air through the upper air discharge apertures. Puriication
is carried out by the grease ilter and also by the carbon ilter (odour ilter with
activated carbon; not in the scope of delivery).
Advantage: Simple installation
Disadvantage: With increasing contamination of the carbon ilter, the
puriication and extraction effects recede. Depending on the use,
the carbon ilter must be replaced approximately every three
months.
Extraction mode
In extraction mode the kitchen vapours are sucked in, puriied by the grease ilter
and discharged to the atmosphere through an exhaust air hose (not in the scope
of delivery).
Advantage: Carbon ilter not required, unpleasant odours are always very
low.
Disadvantage: Wall breakthrough (core drilling), 13 cm diameter with
applicable hose connection required. Operation of open
ireplaces in the same room is only possible to a limited extent
(refer to Safety information, page 6).
Important!
If you should decide on the extraction mode and do not have a
connection option for the hose, we recommend that you contact a
specialist irm to make the wall breakthrough. If open ires are also
operated in the same room, before installation seek advice from the
local oficial heating inspector about the local regulations.
If you are a tenant, approval of the owner is required.
It is imperative to observe the safety information, pages 4-6. The
connection for the exhaust air hose must be completed before
the subsequently described installation.
To bridge longer distances to the outside, an external motor can be installed in
the exhaust duct. Consult a specialist electrical irm.
