Camellia ou camélia ?<br />
Beaucoup d‘entre nous, se demandent s'ils doivent écrire<br />
Camellia avec deux L ou Camellia avec un L?<br />
Beaucoup de personnes croient que la bonne orthographe est<br />
camélia avec un L.<br />
C'est une erreur, lorsque Linné décrivit la plante, il la dédia au<br />
père jésuite Camelli, qui, en 1739, l'avait importée du Japon en<br />
France.<br />
En langue botanique, Camelli fait Camellia; il faut donc écrire<br />
Camellia avec deux L. Ce n'est qu’après l'apparition du célèbre<br />
roman d' Alexandre Dumas fils, la Dame aux Camélias, que<br />
l'incertitude s’installa.<br />
