I.3.3- Eff<strong>et</strong> <strong>de</strong> la température<br />
D'un point <strong>de</strong> vue thermodynamique la transformation martensitique est du premier<br />
ordre. La transformation martensitique est un changement <strong>de</strong> phase à l'état soli<strong>de</strong> (Delaey <strong>et</strong><br />
al.1974). La phase à basse température est appelée martensite. La phase à haute température<br />
est pour sa part appelée austé<strong>ni</strong>te.<br />
On peut défi<strong>ni</strong>r les températures <strong>de</strong> transformation à partir <strong>de</strong> la courbe <strong>de</strong> résistivité en<br />
fonction <strong>de</strong> la température, en traçant entre <strong>de</strong>ux lignes <strong>de</strong> base attribuées à la martensite <strong>et</strong> à<br />
l'austé<strong>ni</strong>te. La transformation austé<strong>ni</strong>te → martensite est nommée la transformation directe.<br />
C<strong>et</strong>te transformation intervient au cours du refroidissement. En revanche, la transformation<br />
martensite → austé<strong>ni</strong>te est appelée transformation inverse. C<strong>et</strong>te transformation apparaît au<br />
cours du chauffage.<br />
La figure I-6 illustre la défi<strong>ni</strong>tion <strong>de</strong>s points <strong>de</strong> transformation qui sont caractéristiques<br />
d'un alliage ayant subi un traitement thermoméca<strong>ni</strong>que donné.<br />
