Avant-propos Le présent manuel est essentiellement destiné aux mécaniciens qualifiés travaillant dans un atelier correctement équipé. Toutefois, il contient suffisamment d’informations de base et détaillées pour permettre à l’utilisateur qui le souhaite d’effectuer ses propres entretiens et réparations de base. L’exécution correcte de ces travaux suppose une connaissance de base de la mécanique, de l’utilisation adéquate des outils et des procédures d’atelier. Si le propriétaire dispose d’une expérience insuffisante ou a des doutes quant à sa capacité à effectuer ces travaux, tous les réglages, entretiens et réparations seront confiés exclusivement à des mécaniciens qualifiés. Pour effectuer les travaux de manière efficace et éviter de coûteuses erreurs, lisez le texte, familiarisez-vous au préalable avec les procédures et travaillez soigneusement, dans un endroit propre. Lorsque l’utilisation d’outils ou d’un équipement spécial est recommandée, n’utilisez pas d’outil ou d’équipement inapproprié. Seuls les instruments adéquats permettent d’effectuer des mesures de précision et l’utilisation d’outils de substitution peut avoir de graves conséquences. Pour la durée de la période de garantie, nous recommandons que toutes les réparations et tous les entretiens périodiques soient effectués conformément au présent manuel d’atelier. Toute procédure d’entretien ou de réparation effectuée par le propriétaire dans le non-respect du présent manuel peut annuler la garantie. Pour garantir à votre véhicule une longévité maximale. • Suivez le Tableau d’entretien périodique du Manuel d’atelier. • Soyez vigilants aux problèmes et aux entretiens non périodiques. • Utilisez les outils adéquats et des pièces moto Kawasaki d’origine. Les outils spéciaux, jauges et testeurs nécessaires pour l’entretien des motos Kawasaki sont présentés dans le Manuel d’atelier. Les pièces d’origine disponibles sont les pièces de rechange figurant dans le Catalogue des pièces. • Suivez minutieusement les procédures présentées dans le présent manuel. Ne prenez pas de raccourcis. • N’oubliez pas de tenir un registre à jour des entretiens et réparations, avec les dates et la mention des éventuelles nouvelles pièces posées. Utilisation du présent manuel Dans ce manuel, le produit est subdivisé en ses principaux systèmes, et chacun de ces systèmes constitue un des chapitres du manuel. Le Guide de référence rapide vous présente tous les systèmes de la moto et vous aide à localiser les chapitres correspondants. Chaque chapitre, à son tour, est pourvu d’une table des matières détaillée. Par exemple, si vous recherchez des informations sur la bobine d’allumage, utilisez le Guide de référence rapide pour localiser le chapitre consacré au Système électrique. Reportez-vous ensuite à la table des matières de la première page du chapitre pour retrouver la section consacrée à la bobine d’allumage. Chaque fois que vous voyez les symboles AVERTISSEMENT et PRECAUTION, veuillez prendre en compte les instructions y figurant! Faites attention de toujours suivre des procédures d’utilisation et de maintenance sûres.
