Assembly (continued)Assembling the tinesfor tilling1. Remove the cardboard fromaround your tiller’s base.2. Slide the tines onto the axleshafts. The “D” hole goes on theoutside.3. Make sure you’ve installedthe tines properly for tilling.Liken the tines to your fingers.When your palm faces theground, your fingers curl down.Stand behind the tiller and holdyour hand next to the tines. Dothe tine blades curl down, as yourfingers do? If so, they are in thetilling position. (To switch to thecultivating position, see page 13.)4. To secure each tine to theaxle, insert a tine retaining pin.IMPORTANT NOTE:Before starting your4 Stroke/<strong>Mantis</strong> Tiller, add 80ml maximum of thepremeasured 3.4 oz. (100 ml)bottle of4 stroke engine oil. See enginemanual for details.IMPORTANT NOTE:Check the oil level in the engine before each use. Place thetiller on a level surface and rotate it forward until it rests onit’s fuel tank. Remove the oil fill cap and make sure the oil is tothe top (about to overflow). If oil is low, top it off with 10W-20before using. See your engine manual for details.IMPORTANT NOTE:Before you use yourMANTIS Tiller, read thesafety rules & warningson pages 3-6.! <strong>WARNING</strong> • <strong>DANGER</strong> !FUEL IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE.
